20's.....OR 21 inch ???????
 

Hey guys, Im in the research stages right now for wheels and what do you guys think ? 20 or 21 inch wheels ? I know the car is long and it seems every time pictures are taken, the wheels always look small. I am not really the performance type of person, but what your guys feedback on what I should do ? The wheels are also going to be matte black with either gloss black lip or black chrome lip, so the color could change how things look. Appreciate what everyone has to say.

20's look good...21's...you will have to do some major fender work...:)

20's for sure. Depending on the design of the wheel (such as lip size and design) , the wheel will appear either smaller or larger. I've seen some 20's that look like 19's and others that look like they could be 21's, just depends on the design of the wheel. I'm definitely thinking 20's though.

id say stay in the 19"-20" range

Do it, why not be the first. Talk to MC3 Wheels on the board, they have done a few sets and the fit very well. No rubbing unless you want it aggressive!

You should check out the wheels on my Obsidian IS, they came out insane and they are the same way you described!

ive always liked the 19" look for the F. eventually ill wanna get some aftermarkets, and i know rob at strasse forged has a great selection. great guy to deal with!

+1 on 19 or 20... 21 is too big IMO

I'd go 20. I some 20" Strasse Forged on my F :thumbup:

I'd say stick with 20s...

If you're sacrificing stance to get a bigger rim, i'd say stick with 20s. Like CrazyMPG said, you're going to have to shave the hell outta your fenders to achieve any sort of flushness. Also, from experience, you will probably still hit the wheel well liner carpet a lot, even with a tiny drop - all while running dangerously low profile tires.

20s are perfect.

I will give my 2 cents just to give you some help....

Contrary to what people think, the BIGGER your wheel gets the more "higher" your car gets. I've seen so many GTR's with 21's at SEMA this year and they all have that hoopty lifted look. At some point you just can't go thinner on your tires and you end up with a really funny looking car no matter how you slam it.

(forget ride quality or performance at this point since I'm just talking asthetics)

My 19's on my IS-F does not sacrifice ride quality one bit, does not slow the car down as it's lighter than the OEM wheels and still looks big to me. 20's would be the ABSOLUTE BIGGEST and even with 20's you are going to suffer on speed/ride quality. I had a friend with an M5 insist on 20's. Once installed he HATED them so much we pulled them off after 1 week and he went to a set of Hamann PGIII and loved it.

You didn't state if this was going to be one of those all show, no go cars but if you want driveability do NOT get 21's for sure.

Those guys telling you to do it is because it's not their money and they just want to see someone else do it. I guarantee 99% of people here will not run 21's.

In the end it's your money so do what you want :)

No offense intended but you must not have read the op first post. He stated he is not into performance. That means he is more into the look. That means your entire post is just long winded babble.
That being said, I also would not do 21 on this car. I would definitely do 20's. I like rubber underneath and 21 would mean really low profiles on this car.
The GTR could handle it, not an ISF.
