Default 20,000 miles on a used ISF, any concerns?

I’ve been browsing online for an 08 IS-F for some time now and I found a few in the lower 40k range (40-43k) but most of those have 20,000+ miles. I know the car is a Lexus and well Lexus is known for its reliability. However, is 20,000 miles on an 08 considered a “high” for this car? Anything I should be concerned with? Thanks in advance!

Currently at 22K on mileage with no issues. Brakes will be coming due shortly...I would probally check that out. Do the normal stuff like checking for no auto body damage (hidden), service schedule...if none should be ok.

Enjoy.

i'd say brakes and tires would be the things to check when buying w/20000miles.
i got a little over 22k and everything running perfect.

20k miles for an 08 is average. actually below average. Like others mention if maintenance is current and Brakes are good if not replaced than you should be good.

Check out my ebay thread as i found many in the price range you are looking at. maybe around 45k with lesser miles. Those are still good numbers at 40-43k on a 55k car.. GL..

I've got an 08 with 43,000 trouble free miles. Still on original brakes.

Just did the 20K service on the F I bought new in Sept '08. I need new front tires (no surprise there...) and the brakes are in very good shape. Hell, overall the car feels like it's barely broken in.

But yeah, check the tires, brakes, make sure the scheduled service has been done and you should be good to go.

The miles arnt an issue. I've got 30k miles on my 08 and not a problem. I don't plan on selling the car because it is just that good. A couple thousand here and there is nothing for a car that can satisfy like an IsF.

Good to know that the car is so reliable

I'm coming from a chipped 335i and even though it never gave me any problems the fuel pump was almost in the back of my mind. Now the only problem is finding the right IS-F!

miles wont be an issue. if you think about it 20k on a car thats hitting nearly two years comes to about 10k miles per year, which is less than a 1000 per month. check all electrical and engine-related functions prior to purchasing. the most probable change that you'll need to make will be the brake pads. other than that, its should still be in good if not great condition. have you also considered purchasing from a lexus dealership? i know the price may not be as close as what you're looking for, but they do have the warranty in place for CPO vehicles (certified pre owned). in any case, best of luck, and once you find that F, you'll have a blast with it. best of luck my friend!

The advantage of having such a big engine with a relatively low red line means it should be, per definition, way more reliable that those smaller engines that scream to 8K RPM or breathe through very hot twin turbos. So, yes, no worry for the engine, I believe they should last almost as long as any other engine (100K-200K mi depending on their maintenance). That said, there are some places with a little too much technology that perhaps will not last 10 years (like the VVT-iE motors, actuators, servos and stuff that are almost everywhere).

Brakes and tires would definitely be the kind of items to look at 20K.

I wouldn't say this to a Supra owner....
