Salil, thanks for the update! Glad you're not getting that sound anymore. Anyway you can scan and show me your service report? I think it would be easier to explain to my dealership. Thanks.

Thanks Salil!! I wonder if I should have Lexus contact the same field person that came to see your IS-F. That way we're not re-inventing the wheel.

Si vous pouvez lire l'anglais vous trouverez toutes les infos ici. Je n'ai pas vu une seule ISF lors de mes vacances... Je sais seulement qu'elles coutent anormalement plus cheres.

I had just read this entire thread today (lack of time) and I am glad this issue was solved though I am puzzled several cars would be experiencing it. It must not have been cheap for Lexus to fix it, it would be nice to know what part exactly was causing the trouble. Perhaps several parts got out of specs and it's possible your engine may never have run correctly to 100% of its capacity with the problem.

I checked my car tonight and I definitely did not hear that noise at all. Lexus mechanics, like any support guy for anything in any company (almost any) are robots trained for specifics tasks with no out of the box jugement. It is much cheaper than having those well qualified individuals (like the one who found the issue) in every shop. Many times in the past have I experienced the same stories, you can't blame those technicians, they are at the bottom of the food chain. Those to blame are at the top. But if I was at the top I would do the same, make the company efficient so I can please my shareholders...

Good luck.
