There's one person that I remember a couple years back that had his tranny replaced, but I've also heard people say he drives his car really hard. I've only seen one or two transmission replacement in my 3-4 years of being on CL. No car is perfect but definitely a lot more reliable than other vehicles on the market.

From my memory, three people had transmission failures and two guys blew their engines due to too much nitrous.

It amazes me that there are so few catastrophic failures. No other sports car comes close to the F's reliability.

You're just now getting a tune and forced induction applications. Blown motors, rear end and trannies are right down the road just as soon as people start pushing the limits. Left up to the Lexus computer and the car would be in limp mode before it ever went outside of the comfort zone.

I searched "broken transmission" the other day and narrowed it to the best of my ability. I found 5 threads in the ISF forum that mentioned damaged transmissions.

This, very true............ soon we will find out the torque limits of the Aisin AA80E? Hopefully it can hold it's own as people are eventually going to add more and more boost to the ISF now that it's tunable!

With so few of the ISF ever made, it would be hard to compare to standard production vehicles and the way we talk about their common issues. We should expect to see or hear about fewer failures based on that fact alone.

I'll add a vote for toyota / lexus reliability. They are well engineered and thus have a lot of respect in the marketplace i.e. resell value, reputation, etc.
