Spacers

Has anyone thought about using a wheel spacers on the factory wheel to bring it to the outside more? i was thinking about it but did not wanna mess anything up? i just wanna keep the factory wheels but maybe have a little better look on side! :D but if it hurts performance i will not do it!

Kics of japan makes nice spacers that dont hurt performance.

I'm with D on this one...I have been back and forth with the idea of spacers ever since I bought my IS-F. They would make the stock wheels look that much nicer.

I ran wheel adapters on the rear wheels of my IS250, and it totally changed the wheel base of the car. Wheels were FLUSH. Check it out....

My concern with spacers on such a powerful car is fear of breaking a stud or something. I didn't exactly have to worry about such a thing with my 250 :p.
I guess if guy's WERE to take this route (which I eventually might) to use spacers that have built in studs, and spots that can just bolt onto the original OEM studs.

LOBUX, might have to chime in and give his 2cents on this one....

Chikken did not (chicken :D -I know that a very bad pun-) and did it:

I just added 15mm fronts and 20mm backs to my 250 about a week ago.
It seems fine, no issues. It looks a bit better. I'm thinking of adding to the wifes RDX...I might be concerned if this was a car as powerful as the ISF, because when it goes I don't think your going to get much of a warning.
But I really can't imagine if you check the lugs after a few miles what could possably break? :uh: Again if you just check the lugs I don't see all 5 studs breaking at once.

Did the IS-F OEM wheels have gaps in the back (like the ISx50 wheels have) to accommodate the OEM studs sticking out with 15mm spacers ?

Most evey factory wheel I have seen has the holes to except the Ichiba V2 spacers. These spacers start out at 15, 20 and 25 mm.

Thanks
Charles

If I was to drop I'd definitely put on some spacers. I'm a little worried though because of the power of this car, something could break. I know a few people who have put them on and no problems thus far but I'm not sure I'm willing to take the risk.

ExclusivIS 12-23-08 03:10 PM

^ I'm with Mike on that one.
