Default Winter Set-Up Works!!

I was on my way home from a business trip yesterday and got caught in one of the worst blizzards I've ever encountered. The highway was completely white with visibility being limited to a couple hundred feet at most. The road markers and rumble strips were my guide...lol. I was happily surprised...stunned actually...at how well the car handled it.

Of course, you can get the back end sideways in a big hurry if you stomp on the gas, but overall it handled very well and was readily stoppable. It was amusing to me to be passing all of these SUV's and trucks on the highway that were crawling along (I was only doing 100km/h).

One more thing to love about the F

I was going to start a thread on this exact same thing!!! I drove to work on Monday in about 4" of snow and ice. I have a rim/tire combo with some blizzack LM's and it was a dream. I had T/C on so even when I purposely tried to lose the back end, I'd get beeps and just a little wheelspin. But overall, really easy to drive. And I did not even try the Snow setting, normal was just fine.

Good to hear

I am REALLY glad to hear this since I live in Minnesota. I was worried that I would need to keep my current car for the winter time when I get an ISF .....someday

Yes sir. Got some 18" Akita Rims from the dealer wrapped with a staggered Blizzack LM-25 setup 225/255.

Same as DRE here (Chicago) and no problems! I almost got rear ended on Route 22 though - I was at a complete stop at a redlight and some civic had to hit the curb to the side to prevent rear ending me!

Are you kidding me Mike? lol...my uncle and aunt go down there to get away from winter every year!

Granted the PS2's probably are useless if you get any real cold...but cummon

Yup, I have the Blizzak's on 18" wheels, 225/25/18. I have another thread with full pics and specs.

I guess I'm still quite the noob....I have no idea what you're talking about...lol

P.S. I had to drive mine in "snow" mode and the changed gearing, added to the traction control was phenomenal.)

Excellent thread, I was curious how these torque promoting vehicles handled with snow tires/trac in adverse weather and snow.

We had a little winter blast here this week with a couple of inches of snow. By the time I got out, the streets were mostly clean. In my neighborhood there was still some packed snow and ice, but I had no problems accelerating or braking at reasonable speeds. I am also able to get up the incline of my driveway with no difficulty.
I'm running Dunlop M3's (p225s) on 18x8 wheels all around. Ordered from Tire Rack on Sport SV5 wheels with TPMS sensors already installed. I paid about $1780 shipped to my door plus $55 for my dealer to register the second set of wheels.
