Question IS 250 / 350 and ISF 3rd Gen?

I was wondering if anyone knows when the IS line up will get a new redesign?

From what I have found / heard it sounds like it will be in 2011 model year. Can anyone confirm this? I am thinking about waiting till Aug / Sep 2010 to order a 3rd gen ISF.....if thats when they will be available .

Thanks,

I nd ISF

I read somewhere on clublexus or my.is that the 3rd generation IS will be out 2012 (or late 2011). Or maybe you can get the redesign GS-F in 2011 but i am not sure.

From article

The IS likely has been pushed to a six-year cycle, as Lexus takes more of a BMW approach with alternating sheet metal and powertrain changes every three years.

Lexus recently trademarked the names IS 250C, IS 300C and IS 350C (news which was first reported by my.IS back on 24 April - Ed.), which would indicate a coupe is coming. Today, it sells only a sedan. Expect a coupe/convertible to arrive in the spring of 2009 as a 2010 model. The sedan's restyled sheet metal happens for the 2012 model year.

In other upcoming Lexus product news, the six-years-between-major-redesigns pattern will seemingly carry over to Lexus' rear-wheel-drive sedan models, with the LS due for a minor facelift for the 2010 model year (including the spread, as an option, of all-wheel-drive from the LS600hL hybrid to the non-hybrid LSs); an all-new, 4th-generation GS debuting for the 2011 model year; and, an all-new, 5th-generation LS debuting for the 2013 model year. The front-wheel-drive platform ES, given that it will remain, as always, a gussied-up Toyota Camry, will follow that model's five-year cycle. The 6th-generation ES is expected to arrive in the spring of 2011 as a 2012 model. The next generation will offer a hybrid model, borrowing the V-6 from the RX hybrid, as opposed to using the 4-cylinder Camry Hybrid powertrain.

yeah, there was a thread about it, on 2012.

but I'm guessing that the IS-F will stay a year more.

I am refering to the IS line getting a redesign. So yes, this is the first gen ISF but the next update would be 3rd gen for the IS line.

Are there any spy photos or artist renderings of the 3 gen IS, and anyone know if they will include a 2 door coupe with the remodel?

It is my thought that Lexus could shave a few pounds with a coupe version of the F, keep the same power plant while increasing performance.

Right, so that would make the next IS-F a second gen car.........when introduced by Lexus, the press release wouldn't say "third generation" IS-F

It maybe the first generation for the IS F, but it is a second generation IS flat out. The IS F is not a model all by itself. It just happens to be a performance marque for Lexus.

So the IS-F is lumped in with the rest of the 2nd gen IS line? Is the new M3 considered part of the 3 series line? Is the C63 AMG considered part of the C series line?..........is it based on chasis?
