Default Tires, life and rotation

Just got my first rotation done. I just noticed that the Potenza tread is molded only one way, meaning the outer tread is swept back on one side, and forward on the other. This goes for both front and back. Rotation direction is not specified, only outside sidewalls are. Maybe I'm new to this approach, but I assumed symmetry was preferred.

Also, when I dismount for winter wheels or deep wheel cleaning, does anyone know the torque spec for the lugnuts? The service rep guessed 70 pounds without looking it up. Owners manual doesn't seem to list it.

And just curious, has anyone yet burned through their factory rubbers? What kind of mileage did you acheive?

I am a little confused. Did you remove the tires from the wheels for the rotation? I am pretty sure that the wheels have stamps on them indicating to which corner they belong.

I knew nothing of designated corners. I though the pair (tires not wheels) from each axle could be rotated.

Umm. No. There is no tire rotation for the IS-F or the IS350. Even the wheels are designated to a corner of the car on the IS-F.

Torque spec is 76 ft-lbs for all Toyota products with only a couple of exceptions in SUVs and trucks.

I have ended my rear bridgestone tires in 15.000 km. They worn (or should I say burn) down very evenly I should say. Front one are looking as new, though I had some hard track days..

PS2 comes next, just after my winter lm-25

I know about the wheels, but the tires are identical. No L or R. While it's possible, it doesn't make sense to do it on this car. However, the service techs input the data on the nav service screen at vehicle delivery day and they even updated it after my 5k service.

Thanks for the torque info.

yeah i agree with lobuxracer...there is no tire rotation on the F or 350...U cant even rotate the front ones because then they are going the opposite direction of the tread...and the back ones are diffrent size, so how would you rotate..?

Dis-mount tires and re-mount on opposite sides. No front to rear. When you total the cost to do this, it is cheaper to leave them and replace them when worn.
