Fox/Artisan IS-F Project Car for SEMA 2008
#47
I am curious what they are using for an EMS, what kinda of turbos t has and if they kept the stock tranny. The one thing that stopped me from getting an IS-F was the power. Its hard to go to an IS-F after driving a turbo IS. I also was thinking, the compression is so high on the IS-F, that if you tried to turbo it, you would blow it up. So I am very interested is to see what was done in order to have that kind of power gain. (I'm going to SEMA) If its as good as what I am hearing, I will seriously consider selling my Turbo IS, keeping my rims and buy an IS-F with this kit.

I think the car has sufficient power. What it needs is a diet. Drop it to 3000lbs and it'll be perfect. Carbon fiber roof, hood, trunk, doors. Take out the back seats, spare tire, etc. I think it could at least drop to 3400-3500lbs with just the CF stuff. Beyond that would probably involve tearing out carpets, sound deadening, panels, AC, etc.

Why did they keep the stock grill?

I just found this info that tells a little bit more than what we have seen or heard as far as parts/internals. Its also seems to be running on an AEM.

I actually like what they did with this IS-F, nice is subtle and not over the top. I know with the stock IS-F, its difficult to put deepdish rims in the rear...this example took care of that. However, i still don't like the quad exhausts. Overall, its nice...i like!
