I went to the dealer yesterday and they said $1000 deposit will get you on the list.. but if they only making 1000 of them how the hell does 1k deposit guarantee you a car...

I put $500 down. My dealership didn't offer me any guarranttees but promised a full refund no questions asked. They offered me their assurance however that they are likely get more IS-f's in their area (San Francisco Bay area) than any other dealership due to their size. I wait and see.
To be honest though, I have my doubts about the 1000 only decision Lexus made. Could be a rumor for all we know.
