Silvers rr racing replacement
Just sharing where I am at with my long term issue with my suspension challenges now it’s fixed. For the record, bought rr racing v2 and the front made noise to the point I could drive the car without it driving me nuts. Rr racing changed to the new version and gave me a discounted rate for the new ones and I put them in. The rear now made noise and after multiple removal and installs swapping seasonally between oem set for winter and rr racing v3 for summer I tolerated the noise for a few years but it eventually drove me crazy. It was so bad I couldn’t drive the car with the suspension like that so I went and to oem and then recently 4 months forced myself to live with the v3 w silver shocks in them and determined to find the clicking sounds that persisted for nearly 5 years and totally maybe 15k km on the suspension. Rr racing comp’d me a partial refund on the suspension, but we couldnt resolve the issue. I went to silvers to figure out wtf the problem was as it was their product and after looking at serial numbers they determined the original set wasn’t valves right and that’s where the problem came from. So they gave me a good price in rear cartridges to resolve the issue but I still paid about 500. I swapped them out and there was no difference in the performance and clicking still present. But Now the rear end felt loose with the new cartridges in place, but to be fair I added new rear winter tires as old ones were buggered. Perhaps the winters made it squirly. The car now handled terrible and the back always felt it was about to come out. Like the car was trying to steer into itself . I decided to replace all rear suspension link pieces. Oem Upper control arms, toe arms and lower control arms, sway bushes. No change at all. Still clicking like crazy at low speed and handled terribly even after alignment. Silvers provided hours of help on the phone but we just couldn’t get it right. As a back up I bought new his hipermax S and as a last resort to not getting improvement from all the trouble shooting I replaced the suspension completely with the new suspension.
I don’t know what the original isssue was for years but I solved the clicking and handling in 2 hours of replacing the suspension. My epic struggle of 5 years was now over. I am no longer able to advocate for the suspension products form rr racing or silvers . For some reason they had some weird feud with rr racing that silvers wouldn’t disclose but I respect not airing that laundry. Each party acted responsibly and worked hard to help solve the problem, despite failing. I no longer have any suspension issues for the first time in 5 years.
