Hey Everyone! Ive been on CL a long time with my 2006 IS350, I found a 2008 ISF for sale Im gonna check it out, $25000, 125K miles, has some cosmetic blemishes, havent seen Carfax yet.
What do I need to know about/look for in the 2008 ISF?? I put in a loan app thru my credit union OCCU they said may or may not get approved--car might be too old over 100k miles
Seen this ISF for sale looks decent. Read it had some bumper fade or change maybe minor accident? Who know but for the price it’s decent. Valley plate leak would be one to look out for and crack exhaust manifold. There’s a cleaner USB on with lower mileage for $29k
I saw and drove the car yesterday! Owner is cool he wants to sell it he got a Honda, carfax shows 3 owners good service history at Toyota/Lexus, but the car needs a lot of work and reconditioning.
Both bumpers F and R need to be pulled off car full repaint, roof wrap needs to be redone, brake calipers are stained, needs 4 new tires, interior is ok seats are ok some wear, engine bay dirty, car needs major wash/detail.
I drove it--engine/trans/suspension feel ok and solid, exhaust was loud, loved the V8 sound and pull, but car was not much faster if any than my modded IS350, the ISF felt heavy.
I still have to check if I can get a car loan for it, I like the ISF but Im also looking at newer cars--Genesis G70 V6, Q50 Redsport
Just to spill a little truth to you, but if you need a loan on a $25k car, don't think this is the one for you. You'll drain yourself trying to get the car back up to par.
Also, even stock the ISF should feel much more powerful and stronger than your modded IS350.
Good luck!

Yea Im gonna pass on this ISF, I could pay cash for it but I want to keep the money in the bank. The owner is cool but hes asking too much for it, and yes I would be spending LOTS of $$ to repaint bumpers, new tires, replace loud exhaust, major clean up and thats just to get it back to stock!
