Default Anybody taken their IS350c down the quarter mile?

Some guys at work and I want to go watch and race at the Wedesday night, run what ya brung drag races. My wife's 2010, 350c really feels strong and I think I can smoke some of these youngsters rides. Can't wait to show them her bling rear license plate frame, LOL. Car should be AT LEAST a low 14 second ride. Feels faster than that, but I won't launch it crazy hard. It definitely feels stronger than virtually any of the old stock muscle cars we used to drive.

Keep in mind if you don't launch hard you're likely not going to get the 14 second time the car can do. Also note that altitude and weight (go with 1/4 tank of gas) can be a factor. Otherwise have fun and don't let the team down...

I just discovered the PWR ECT button. Had the wife in the car so couldn't play with it. I will power brake it up as much as possible (within reason). I know it's heavier than the IS350, but man this thing pulls HARD!

If the car is stock the best you can do is leave the PWR ECT button off, Leave it in drive, Stall it up as close to 2k rpm as you can and let it rip

Bone stock. Does higher octane gas help with the high compression? say 100 octane? Can the computer tell the difference? I will leave it in normal drive.

No 91 or 93 is plenty. Unless you're tuned for 100 it's not going to help.

For all practical purposes high octane gas packs less energy density. Lower octane is better performance, however due to potential engine knock you need higher octane to withstand whatever pressure will be exerted.

The best 1/4 mile runs in the is350 are with the following settings:

1) traction control OFF (hold button for 5 secs to completely deactivate)
2) NORMAL mode ect (trans shifts at a slightly higher rpm than pwr mode)
3) trans in AUTO mode (will shift at max rpm, manual mode acts as a gear limiter you will not be able to control the shift point at max rpm)
4) 1/4 tank gas
5) 1,500-2,000 rpm launch (whatever the track will hold)

I assume the is350c would be the same.

Power mode increases throttle response so I use power when I drag.

Pedal dance will offer more disabling than holding traction for 5 seconds.

I always liked putting it in manual mode over drive mode. Maybe if you use manual mode and have ththe gear selected to 6th gear it may shift faster.

From the web

0-60 times 5.5 sec

1/4 mile times 14 @ 100.7 mph

Per Road and Track
