Lexus IS C...same frame/wheelbase etc as the Toyota Solara convertible?
Curious how the Lexus IS C relates to the Toyota line. I have always kind of liked the Solara Convertible...don't think it is called a Camry convertible?
What was the last year of the IS C?
Also, was it ever produced with a canvas top vs the hardtop convertible top?
Kind of looking for a warm weather winter car...prefer front and back seats and Lexus or Toyota...Thanks TomMartin

The Solara is based on the Camry, is FWD with a 3MZ-FE 3.3L or 2AZ-FE 2.4L Engine with a Softtop. Suspension is strut-based front and rear. The last year of the Solara was 2008.
The IS250/350C is not related to the Solara at all. It is based on the Mark X/GS/IS RWD platform with a 4GR-FSE 2.5L or 2GR-FSE 3.5L D-4S direct-injected engine and a retractable hardtop. Suspension is double wishbone front/multilink rear. The last year of the ISx50C was 2015.
In short: they're unrelated top to bottom. Different cars, different suspension, different powertrains, all different.

I do not see many for sale?...my guess is it was pretty low volume...particularly last few years? Any discussion of new IS C possibilities?

Thanks Jeff...just out of curiosity are they pretty close in size...ie length/width? Also, did the IS C ever have a soft top?

What's astonishing is that just 90 MT IS-Cs were sold in the US. If you had wanted one that was post-2011 facelift, you narrowed your options to 27, fewer than the amount of states. Forget about Canadian options, with a 1/10 ratio of population and a less enthusiastic response to convertibles north of 49, we'd be lucky to have 5 Canadian manual IS-Cs floating around. Probably fewer than 100 continent-wide...Might just be as rare as an LFA!
The "C" sold a bit better than I thought. Assuming 2014 numbers are close to 2013/2015, that's more than 30k sold. While the 250C still outsold the 350C by more than 2:1, the ratio amongst C buyers did skew more strongly towards the 350C than it did on the sedan, where the 250 outsold it by 6:1.

Given the population difference between Canada and the USA, I am still surprised at how many MT cars I see for sale, even of the newer years, so I would tend to think (percentage wise) the MT may have sold slightly better in Canada. Still not saying much though, haha. It was not a good seller.
