lexus is350c top won't go down?
I've been having some weird issues with my is350c recently -- the top won't go down (gets stuck in the position below -- op suspended shows in the cluster); the driver rolls down a 1/5th of the way when rolled up automatically. the car is out of warranty.
any thoughts on what is causing these issues with the top/windows? http://i50.tinypic.com/2ey7rk2.jpg |
Probably:
SLIDING ROOF / CONVERTIBLE: LUGGAGE DOOR DRIVE MOTOR. It is a very complicated replacement, and the parts are very costly. The motor assembly looks to be around $800. It could be one of the position switches on the assemblies, but these parts are not sold separately as far as I can tell. I would recommend that you subscribe to the AllDataDIY site so that you can get all the technical information before you start taking it apart. |
sorry about that. It sounds like an expensive fix, get a quote from the dealer, you may just have to do it manually (if possible).

Try disconnecting the battery and connecting it back on. Then try again.

So will it close back from this point where it stopped? I would have some one else open it while you are right there watching and look and listen for anything that doesn't seem right. Try the battery disconnect first than go from their. Did you make sure that nothing in the trunk is getting in the way?

this sound like a very good idea

Didnt the verts come out in 2010? how are you out of warranty besides mileage possibly?

Is the inside trunk pull out blind positioned correctly. As others said it should be warranty.

^^+1 did you get it fixed? in the owners manual, there are instructions for closing the roof manually. I had to do it once before, took it to my dealership and they made sure everything went back correctly and worked properly. I have a 2010 so yours should still be covered by warranty.
