With regard to the springs/shocks,
is it compatible???
.....I guess that answer is yes, according to the coilover vendors that I talked to, and what I've seen installed on verts.
However, is it "correct".....No, as the springs rates are different.
Just cause it's compatible doesn't mean it's correct. That's why Lexus has different part numbers for the springs/shocks.
So, my question, what are you trying to achieve????

sorry for bring up such an old thread but i have a question in regards to only the Strut.
Are the Struts between the convertible and sedan the same ? I know the spring rates on the springs are different because the rear are stiffer but im wonder if the Front Struts are interchangeable.
I know the parts are different
Sedan is
4851080257 Front Right )
& convertible is 4851053210 (Front Right )
By the diagram for both sedan and convertible look identical. I placed an order for the convertible strut today and will try to see if they match with the sedan when i have received it.
Just wondering if anyone can confirm that they are interchangeable.
Thanks

Just because it "fits" doesn't mean it's correct. If lexus is showing different part numbers, I would use the one listed for your model. There's usually a reason for two part numbers.....otherwise the company would be able to carry less SKU's.
for suspension parts especially, I wouldn't go by "looks"

If anyone is interested the strut fit perfect with side by side pictures of the same dimension. I installed the strut and between the Oem sedan strut to the ISC strut the ride comparison is identical . The rebound is the same. I ran the part numbers at work (I work for Toyota financial) and was able to find the minimal dampner difference from the ISC to the sedan strut to be very minimal. Reason why I was unable to feel the difference. Again this is only for the FRONT strut on sedan Oem springs and hardware.
Reason why I bough the isC strut was due to not being able to find a used strut only for the IS sedan.
If anyone wants any details just send me a PM
The ISC strut part number used was 48510-53210
