IS 350c - Yea or nay?
Big Yea!
Just drove the demonstrator at my dealer. What a blast! (Been driving a GX for 4 1/2 years. I miss having a car.)
Top up: drives like a coupe. Top down: still pretty quiet. I didn't sense cowl shake, really. I've wanted a convertible for some time and this may be the best compromise between sportiness & comfort. Back seats roomy enough for young adults on a short drive.
Anyone regret buying an IS as opposed to BMW? They seem pretty similar. BMW slightly more performance oriented. Lexus just less so, but more comfortable for my aging behind. They are dealing at BMW. The Lexus is full price. That means that the actual cost difference isn't as much as the sticker prices would lead one to believe.
Looking for thoughts on this.
Is it true that there is a six month wait? I'm number 2 on the list at my dealer (for a 350).

test drive the bmw than compare what you like better for the cost?
weird that they won't deal on the new car tho, when i was looking for my car the new audi A4 had just been released and the dealer was giving pretty good deals on the car for the first month just so they could get them on the road or something.

The BMW's ride is different than the Lexus. Other than that, everything else is subjective and related to styling (both look nice IMHO). I'd personally take the Lexus, as I do not like the pretentious reputation of those who drive BMW's (here in L.A.).

IS350 vs 335i i chose the IS350 for many reasons including value and COST. comparing the IS C to the 3-series C: the 3 series will cost more again. instead id get regular 335i. I mean you live in NJ where is cold half of the year. ir just get the regular IS350 and save up tons of money

I prefer the IS350 sedan edition, and I'd take it over a BMW 3. However, if it we were talking about the verts, then I would pick the 3-series b/c I really enjoyed that car - my friend owns one, and I love the car (but I love my IS350 sedan more! )
But I wouldn't go with a vert b/c I prefer the sedan and it's cheaper.
I don't regret the Lexus b/c of its luxury and smoothness. I'm willing to sacrifice some performance for that (not to mention Lexus = more bang for you buck).

I have a 2008 IS350 and my father has a 330CI convertible. I must admit, the BMW handles better and feels more "driver orientated" than our lexus. I do like the interior and exterior of the lexus better though. I have only driven the 335 sedan not the conv yet though. Each car offers something different, thats why I enjoy driving them both

if you want coupe, then go with BMW 335
if you want sedan, then go with Lexus IS350
if you want couple and hard top convertible, then go with BMW 335, M3 coupe or maybe G37 coupe
IMO, G37 coupe looks better and sounds better than IS350C
your best bet is to test drive all of them and go from there
