If I had specced it fully I would have done silver Enkei's if it had happened in '22. Once the black Enkei's came out for '23 it lowered my resistance to the BBS's. I figured if I'm getting black wheels I might as well get the better ones.

Dang - I feel less special now that I see my combo is the most popular one (lol) - That is OK, I am still 1 of 3 IS 500 in the Maritime provinces (of Canada) so I am at least special in that sense :)

It is a very rare beast indeed. Haven't checked the official stats, but I believe I live in the 3rd most populated city in US/Canada after New York and Los Angeles, and I've only seen 2 other 500's in the wild - an LE last year and very recently a cloudburst grey. You are just not going to see IS500's all that often.

This is correct and you will look at every 2021+ IS moving towards you in the hopes it will be an IS 500 but it will 99% be an IS 300 or IS 350. Odds are unless you get a long enough look you can catch the hood bulge or the quad tips you may have your doubts either way. :)

This is exactly how it went with me. Cannot think of being any different now, have to have the BBS.

Is there a way to include MSRP to determine how many cars have the base Enkei wheels and how many have the BBS? Amazing effort, thanks for putting this together.

I own a 2001 S2000 and had seen that spreadsheet before. My car is 1 of 1170 that year. ❤️

The S2000 chart was the inspiration for this datasheet! I had a 2001 Formula Red S2000 for awhile and enjoyed it.

As for the wheels, I ran a poll on the Facebook pages, it came back 113 BBS to 38 Enkei. So about 75% BBS to 25% Enkei.

silver Enkeis make it look classy
dark Enkeis make it look sporty
BBS make it look like a track demon, which it isnt

For that reason I think the dark Enkeis fit this car the best.

Nice reasoning. I’m borderline OK with the BBS and that’s mainly because my first car love was a Jetta with silver BBS in a similar style. But my biggest turnoff on the BBS is the $2400 price tag. Love seeing the $63-$64k MSRP on this car.

Giving this a bump since the model year is coming to a close. Can we make this a sticky thread? Cant wait to see how the 23's total up.

Wow my 2023 infrared / white combo is only one of 66 this year. I did not realize how rare these cars are.

^^ Yup I went to Ohio to grab my Infrared with white leather & it is more rarer than my previous Ultra White & Launch Edition.

Should I buy or wait for 2024 IS500 lol

How much did you end up getting yours Out the door for ?

Will dealers budge if I try to haggle them for 5-8% discount off the MSRP for this car or the pricing on these cars stays pretty firm ? What do guys think ? I mean the 2024 model is said to be releasing soon they would want to sell off the 2023 they got left I hope lol

I think that's a very market-by-market-specific question, one that's going to be determined by whether or not that car on that lot in that city has been there for awhile or not. You can look at the VIN tracker spreadsheet and see there's just not many of these cars out there, and I don't recall the market softening for MY22s ahead of MY23s coming out. So I don't think the shift to a new MY will affect how quickly they move because of dealer pressure, or at least not much; there's not that many of them sitting around to begin with. And going forward into 2024, it's going to be more about interest rates than demand. Just my opinion.

You can probably get them to budge on some aspects of the deal at this point, but as mentioned by Admonkey, no guarantees on that. It depends on the demand/interest in your area. I was able to get mine for MSRP mainly because the dealership had a no-markup policy.

In my case, though they held firm on the pricing being MSRP, they did give me a better deal on my trade than I expected.

jct23 Sep 6, 2023 03:56 PM

I used my Costco membership and got it for $1000 off MSRP

I've seen multiple people getting 2-3k off MSRP, some up to 5k off MSRP. Depends on how long it's been sitting on the lot.
