No lie, I got a weakness for the Charger Scat Pack. I’ve owned ~25 cars, more than years I’ve been driving and all but two have been Japanese…. but the Charger is just a brute. They always looked and sound so mean. I like ‘em.

Is it too soon to make the 392 credit score badge joke?

LOL! Have you watched the Car Questions Answered YT channel? He goes to auction houses to see what’s selling, sitting, and/or repo’ed. He takes too much pleasure pointing out Mopar after Mopar after repo’ed Mopar on these lots. 🤦🏽♂️🤭

I have not. Maybe I should look at it. I had a BRIEF period where I worked with automotive refinance so people could get out of their amazingly bad finance deals into something better. Mind you this is when 0-2.9% was a common thing from the new car manufacturers. These people had rates as high as 25%+ The credit scores of these people were painfully low, some were too low to qualify for a refinance at any rate that could help. Tons of Mopars and every guy with a Hemi thought their car was "special" and worth more than Kelly Blue Book said because it was this weeks Dodge Uber Bro Edition Scat Pack Swinger Edition. They were not the only cars of course, lots of Chevy Malibu's, Equinox's, Nissan Altima's, Rogues, Ford Fusions, etc. that have incredibly high rates that basically had them paying twice as much for their cars as the purchase price and they were maybe the second or third owner of this car.
I have kind of thought of the IS 500 as a sort of 4 door Mustang but built to a higher level. I'm willing to sacrifice some ultimate performance for reliability and less danger at Cars & Coffee.

BWAHAHAHAHA!! Not the ‘Swinger Edition’! 🫣😂🤘🏽
The IS 500 characterized as a ‘Mustang in a Tuxedo’ has been used in plenty of places. So you’re thinking is on-par with more than a few. I personally dig the characterization as well, I’ve always l-o-v-e-d the Stang, but the build quality was never there for me.

Agreed. I looked at and seriously considered the 2018+ Mustang GT. I just could not get my self to pay $52k+ for something I could not trust to have some or many quality issues. I had friends with 2015-2017 with all sorts of issues, some with the famous AC issue. Also I thought it was pricey for the quality of the vehicle. I was willing to spend more to get a better vehicle I just had to wait over a year for it. I also think with the stock exhaust the IS 500 sounds better than the Mustang. The "new" S650 generation of Mustang has me further convinced that not doing a Mustang was the best decision.

As someone who has owned four Mustangs, including a '99 Cobra that I still own, I totally agree with this sentiment! It's one of the things that drew me to the IS500 in the first place.
