not difficult at all, but very time consuming! no tricks, just a lot of patience. you'll be glad to know that undercarriage is safe w/ all the panels installed.

Agreed. Getting the undercarriage panels off is a pain. One of those things that takes 2-3 hours the first time you try but only 15min if had to do it again.

Thank you Jororo, I get it. I have been there, probably to much to explain, you just have to dive in and do it. I am going to order it likely Monday. They say four to five weeks before it arrives.

Looking forward to it! Hoping I can keep the resonators and secondary cats in case I need to undo it for sale or preference one day. And I hear you on quality of work; I initially asked for a muffler delete (I was thinking like $200) and he was like no, $700 because I do it right and not just cutting them out. That’s what got me thinking “why not just a custom mid-pipe.” He looked at it, and it turned out to be the same price, and really, will give me what I wanted sound wise over just a muffler delete.

Edit: found this video of comparison h to x pipes. Also, gotta see this guy drifting in his driveway :eek1:

This guys a man that knows his lanes.

I hate raspy aftermarket Mustang exhausts the majority seem to do. They sound so crappy on far too many Mustangs. Anybody doing an exhaust on their IS 500, don't go full Mustang (retard).

To pile on, watch this video to the end. Great Mustang jokes...

the only mustang that sounds unique to me is the gt350 with the flat plan crank. Sounds like a Ferrari, and their valved factory exhaust let's you pick to unleash the ferrari or normal sound mode.

O.K., BAZOOKA catback is on the way with 4-5 week before it arrives here. Ordered it yesterday. Wrench is in hand and waiting!

I’m not familiar, what is full Mustang?

Loud, raspy, no real tone. The rasp is so loud it sounds almost like clipping of an audio signal. Sadly I hear far too many that do that. The GT 350 is a different beast and stock sounds great and it least what I have seen aftermarket wise sound better than the usual GT aftermarket seems to gravitate towards..

AmbyBomb Jun 25, 2023 06:31 PM

Probably because they have a different engine than the regular Mustangs.

Ok, I thought it might have meant certain aftermarket hardware or a configuration that was typical on Mustangs. Like a certain type of pipe or mufflers or something.

It's way too east to make any '05+ V8 Mustang sound like crap, and a lot of people do. The '15+ cars are especially bad after Ford changed the firing order of the cylinders.

AmbyBomb Jun 25, 2023 08:05 PM

Lots of cars sound terrible with straight pipes, which unfortunately are popular with cars like Mustangs.

MYIS500 Jun 26, 2023 12:14 PM

To heck with Mustangs this is an IS 500 thread :slap:

AmbyBomb Jun 26, 2023 07:00 PM

Based on this, I think an IS500 with a more substantial straight pipe setup will be ungodly loud.
