Yes with swift spec R springs. It's very mild and not too low at all. Also I just installed slightly taller tires.

RES is a POS. I know multiple guys with it and we are all leaking. I’ve taken it to two of the best shops in WA and both told me it’s a lost cause. I hope you bought this on a credit card because they knowingly sell a defective product and are not willing to refund.

@RRRacing can you chime in here? For the cost of this exhaust it should be absolutely perfect. Look at the previous page where the X pipe hangs too low on one side, and I cannot install the cross brace bracket anymore.....

I got told by my chinese friend to stay away from RES, yes they are chinese brand. My friend told me they use cheap titanium so they will possibly melt on you if you do some track days or hard spirited driving

Any ideas on how to fix this cross brace issue? The guy at the shop was annoyed with me when I asked to see the issue.... the exhaust is already as high as it will go..... WTF. really not happy about this. I love the sound but this thing should be absolutely perfect for the cost of this thing.

The issue isn't limited to any particular brand and it sounds like not everyone has the same experience. You have to understand that these are fabricated by hand (using a template), so no any 2 midpipes of the same brand will ever be identical. My Novel setup has the issue. Others with Novels don't.

You only have 3 options:
  1. Install 5-10mm spacers (with slightly longer bolts)
  2. Remove the brace all together
  3. Live with the rattling
A bunch of us have gone down the spacer option. I went with 10mm and it's been perfect for me.

These RES systems use a lot of ball clamp mounting points. They do this so it has the maximium adjustability. All of the connection points need to be loose. You can then jack the center up to get the most clearance and tighten the clamps. We've installed around 10-15 of these here in our shop. Possibly more. They always leave sealed up and with no clearance problems. If you are relying on a shop where the tech is just rushing through and expecting to zap some bolts tight and send you on the way it's probably not the best shop.

I believe I responded to your email earlier today. As others have said, you can space the brace down to clear the exhaust. We do it all the time.

I'm sorry to compromise the credibility of your "Chinese friend," but the 700+ horsepower Red Devil Race car has been tracking on RES exhaust for years. I can point to others who have as well. Please stop spreading nonsense.

Thanks Justin much appreciated. Yea the shop guy didn't really seem to know much beyond bolt it up and get it off the lift asap.... what's the downside of leaving the brace off?

No downside to leaving it off. I would probably leave it off for now and get the car to a shop where someone can be more careful and plugged in to the job. With everything in place already, It should take more than 30-45 minutes to straighten it out. Then put the brace back on. You will still need to shim it most likely.

Also, I noticed the resonators are scraped? Is it touching the ground?

In my case, It takes two persons to install. One person is holding the axle back while the other person is fighting the mid pipe sections. After driving for a few weeks I noticed some slight tilt on one side and I went back to adjust again.

No the car isn't slammed lol it scraped on a large speed bump when the car was full of people. now i just avoid speed bumps which is annoying AF ... the passenger side does sit lower than the drivers side for some reason which makes it look like it's "handmade" not to a good degree. I'm on swift Spec R springs and +1 tire sizes

@enkrypt3d this is also a good technique to follow in your case. ^

Thanks Justin! I'll see if I can find another shop to take a look.

On another note, do you have any videos of the equal length headers + RES Ti exhaust? I'm assuming it's catless so it would probably throw CEL codes right?

RRRacing Oct 22, 2025 02:09 PM

I don't have that specific video. But yes, you will want an ECU tune to prevent the CEL
