That being said, I agree, I have loved my 2015, 2017 and even my 2021 IS's but there is something about the IS 500 that is just soooooo special - I have always wanted a RWD and a V8 so maybe that is why I feel so excited that I have finally found the perfect car for me. I wouldn't have wanted any V* or any RWD, but seeing that Lexus came out with this just a few years before my retirement is the perfect timing for me!

I totally agree, it is not an F car and I would never describe my car as one either - I am proud for what this car is and will never try and pretend to be one of the F guys. They have paid a premium to wear the F branding and they have every right to claim exclusivity. It would be like a person buying a non F Sport and sticking a few decals on it and trying to say they have an IS 500.
That being said, we still have something special and for a person like myself, I wouldn't get an IS F even if one was on the market today (if the 500 was available) - I don't need a true F car and this F Sport Performance is the perfect balance for me and probably the best bang for the buck, especially in Canada where you can get it at MSRP or in my case, a few thousands below MSRP

I agree this car is awesome. For sure for sure. The only thing that slightly irks me is that the IS500 doesn't get too much respect from the Lexus F community. Obviously not every F owner sees us as inferior, but the more I engage with people, the more I hear "it's not a true F car" from some of those folk.
Just chuckle and leave them be, they know the deal. 😉

I wouldn’t worry about them. Those are the same guys who fomented the toxicity on the IS Freaks FB page back in the day. When you’re outside of the community’s four-walls, the IS 500 on most metrics will score higher than the IS F. (Tech, Styling, Comfort, etc)
