It can look pretty one dimensional in the shade, but every time I see it in the sun or under fluorescent lighting I'm seriously impressed. Such a beautiful color. That video does a great job showing off the shift.
Stumbled across this wonderful video and I might watch it again later just for fun. Amazing job it seems
on the video production and huge credit to YouTuber @Detail-Driven!!

It is always nice to see a IS 500 video but I was a bit disappointed from this one because it is really not a fair competition and really has no purpose IMO. I understand they all have V8 but still, totally different beasts and if you recall, some of the V8 in the 1980s would pump out 160 HP, so because it's a V8, doesn't mean it should be treated as equal. I feel this video focuses on something the 500 is never designed/intended for, which is straight line acceleration. This is a sporty sedan with about 160HP extra for those who wanted a bit more than the 350.
I would agree, a non hellcat Charger would be the only similar vehicle in terms of drivetrain but it's huge compared to the IS platform. The CTS-V, err I mean CT5-V Blackwing ultra mega uber track edition is also a very large car and arguably the best car in terms of drivetrain and handling here but it's 50% more in price at sticker where I live. I don't trust GM reliability but I feel better about it versus Dodgey reputation.
Hagerty / Jason Cammisa, Donut Media, Throttle House. I also really enjoy The Straight Pipes, I discovered them back when Jakub has his ISF.
Same, I enjoy straight pipes for the energy and entertainment, they're great hype men. Savage geese if I want someone who has a calm conversational and informative style. Throttle house for banter/information provided in a fun way, and Hagerty/Cammisa for high production and entertainment from a professional driver. I've kinda stopped watching the other reviewers, nothing against them it's just a style preference.
