Truthfully, I wouldn't even be on CL if it wasn't for this thread. Y'all are cool and very much loved.
Now back to our regularly scheduled programming of waiting 20 years for allocations.

By the time we get these cars wthrman won't look as good in that mini skirt review lol Few more wrinkles with 20 years of waiting added onto those legs

Just get good winter tires. AWD helps traction, not outright grip.

I am Canadian and this is just my opinion but AWD are a bit overhyped. I am not sure why people feel so strongly about AWD. Back in the early 80's, most cars were RWD and the weather was just as bad if not worse and snow removal and such was not as good. A good set of winter tires can still make most conditions manageable but unless there is a blizzard unfolding, rare are the times I would not feel safe driving a RWD car. I find that barely after the storm is over, roads are plowed and chemicals applied and roads are bare again. I dont say that AWD are practical or useful, but I would not rule out a car because it is RWD. That is just me though...

This one was Bridgewater. They didn't say how much (Cherry Hill said $3-5k) but that was the end of the conversation with them.

Another dealer reached back out to me (Freehold) to notify me that they will also be adding a markup, but amount is TBD. At this rate, seems like more dealers will be marking up than not.

That really sucks!! I really hope things still stays the same on my end but never once did the dealer even suggest they would mark it up here so fingers crossed!!

All joking aside, this forum is really top notch with very few, if any, personal attacks so either we are all well behaved or moderators do a great job at cracking the whip...which I also dont mind lol

Joking is allowed contrary to popular belief... As long as is it is obvious that it is joking in good spirit... I am glad there is some fun discussion going on here. I haven't seen a thread this busy in a while.

Gotta say, theTopher's video makes me rethink my earlier posts. The 500 can really hustle even at high speeds.

He’s a really good driver, I really enjoy his vids, especially the Porsche ones. He will ring every horse out of an engine. 😎 Side note, I hope these press cars go back to the manufactures to live a comfortable life. As much as I want a IS500, I’ll never…n-e-v-e-r…accept a press car. Those things are beat-to-hell and back.

Easy way to tell. Look for memory seats.

Also in that Topher video, you can't notice a silver trans cooler when he walks around to the front ;)

Answer Oct 28, 2021 04:25 PM

Just spoke with my friend at the dealer, he told me the 500 can actually be ordered as we speak (in CANADA). Would that order just sit somewhere in Lexus HQ world or would it actually mean something tangible, that I don't know though.

Now if I can just find an insurance company that has the 500 listed so I can roughly compare the costs. I don't think it would be that much more than a 350, but with all the Lexus theft going on, I'd still like to have a ballpark idea on insurance cost before actually ordering it!!
