Not sure if serious, but I honestly have my expectations pretty low for this doing anything more than improving the smoothness of the shifting at low speeds.

V8Brah - It may not improve the 0-60 but will likely improve the 60-0 (lol)

I'm honestly surprised, I'm glad they addressed this. The clunk when slowing down is worse when cold and it's pretty annoying.
Will be nice to enjoy the car with it gone. Maybe at 10k service I'll have it done.

Thanks OP for mentioning it

That's what I was thinking, or something they could push over the air or via the Lexus app.

TSB completed. Braking/coasting have smoother downshifts now when engine is still cold in the morning. Throttle might be a tad more responsive but I'm not aggressive in the first place so could just be placebo. Will update if I notice anything definitive.

My car was in the bay for a few hours (also had inspections for 10k service) so maybe don't expect the 1.1hr stated in TSB right now.

Great news!

I'll have mine done during my oil change in December. I think there is a TSB for our 2024 RX500h too so we will get to do two updates. The wife has been complaining that it is hesitating and not shifting right. That was a really expensive SUV to be dealing with transmission issues. The RX forum is full of complaints.

Having mine done today. Will report back. Mine was borderline unenjoyable because of 5-3 shifts and the whole car jerking / clunking. Was just about ready to call it quits with the thing. Will let you know how it goes.

I set the dash display to show what gear I'm in when it downshifts firmly and it is 5-4 , so what the hell, I scheduled mine too. Can't get in until Nov 18 due to other scheduling conflicts. Now I'm excited!

^^ So just so I know what you guys are experiencing. So you have it in automatic mode (not manual), in normal, then drive say at 60 miles an hour and then let the car decelerate on it's own, no brakes applied, and then when it downshifts, from 5th to 4th, there is a hard shift?

For me its when I'm coming to stop around 10-15 mph from most higher speeds. It will downshift into 3rd or 2nd and clunk pretty loud and jolt the car.

It's not when coasting, it when applying the brakes and coming to a stop in automatic. Say you're driving 50 mph, up ahead there's a traffic light that turned red, you apply the brakes and as the car is downshifting somewhere around 5-4th gear you feel a jolt or clunk as you're about to come to a complete stop. I always thought it was much lower gear but when I set the mode selector to see the gears as it downshifts, it's at 5 to 4th gear.

Is anyone going to do the TSB that is also running the TunedbyLoi tune?

I will have to try to replicate but can't say I have noticed anything in almost 4 years of ownership

I dropped mine off to have the fix done yesterday. It looks like I'll be stuck with a loaner this weekend, sadly. They want to do some diagnostic report and send it to Lexus and potentially even "get an engineer involved". I'd love to know why, but all they will tell me is that they want to fix it right the first time. 😒

I chatted with a friend who works at a sister dealership to mine, and he thinks maybe they just want to scan for some data and make sure Lexus doesn't have any concerns with the state of the car. Though he was surprised they didn't state that if so, not to mention I'm not getting anything in return for my patience. Alas. Hopefully there's nothing wrong.
