It’s titanium, which adds to the distinct sound.

LC500 is valved and does not fit IS500 cuz we have the spare tire in the way

I have an LC. The muffler (only one) is a horizontally mounted cross-flow configuration that mingles both exhaust banks:

I have replaced my exhaust system with PPE headers and PPE Dual Mode (manually controlled valves) Exhaust.

How much, where titanium used? That's way too expensive to use much of it on an exhaust system.

You can buy a full titanium exhaust for the IS500 if you want.

It would have been so awesome if our cars sounded like the LC from the factory. I would have paid extra for some kind of F Sport exhaust.

I love the way the GThaus sounds. I'd love to hear it in person before I buy it though.

Serious question: Why is this thread different from the other exhaust thread?

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...-is-500-a.html

The same questions are being asked/debated in both.

Because it's meant to compile all the information in that thread into the first post so you don't have to go hunting through a massive thread for it.

Got any sound clips? I've been curious about this one for a while but nobody has posted any clips.

Trying to find a balance of smooth and medium loudness. Thinking of a non-resonated midpipe that still has high-flow secondary cats into a known-quiet axleback like the Revels. Then if thats too quiet just get someone to cut out the secondary cats from the non-resonated pipe.

I have the REMARK Axleback mated to PPE/RR Resonated X-Midpipe. Here are the sound clips. Not loud at all compared to GT Haus/RR set up. More of an OEM+ sound. Only time it "drones" is when you're in high gear and pressing the accelerator prior to the downshift.

That sounds pretty good! Thank you for sharing. If you ever have time I'd love an in-car recording as well. I'm always concerned with noise at interstate highway speed cruising around 70-80MPH because I love road trips and any hint of drone becomes an issue after 5-8 hours out on the road!
