IS 500 advice
I have my importer looking for a car as we speak! And of course I have more questions.
I've read the front tire wear is pretty savage on these models and to correct it you can replace a bushing (not sure which one) with one from the RC model??? I'm hearing front tires are wearing at less than 15,000kms (9,000 miles) and quicker than the rears with "normal" driving.

TBH, on my 2023, I had some minor inner wear on the front tires at 9,000 miles and used that as an excuse to upgrade to a better tire.
But, since then, the new tires have been wearing evenly. I make sure to get alignments every 15,000 miles to make sure the alignment isn't a factor, as it can greatly exacerbate the problem.
I am running RCF bushings on my IS500. I do it for a stiffer steering feel. I didn't encounter any inner tire wear with my OEM tire. However, my front outer tire wear faster than the rest of the tire. Probably because the OEM tire is stretched and I corner very hard. I replaced my OEM Bridgestones around 10,000 miles. I currently have pilot sport 4 all season for about 7,000 mile. It wears evenly for now.

@zcheng3 With your new tires, did you go with the wider 245's in front and 275's in the rear? Or did you keep it the same as the OEM width?
Thanks again, good to know. I think I’ll wait till the first set are worn then get 10mm wider tire for the next set.
The originals are 235/40R19 and 265/35/R19.
What’s the actual size including profile you replace them with, as to not upset the Speedo.

Just ordered my IS500 from Japan and should be here within 5-6 weeks.
As this car was never available in Australia the only way we can get our hands on one is to either buy off an Australian dealer that has already imported a used one from Japan or import one directly from Japan. We don't have an option of buying a new car here. I am importing one direct as there is a cost saving.
The one I have ordered is a White 2023 model with just under 20,000kms (12,500 miles) , Enkie Wheels, Mark Levinson audio, sunroof and all the other standard Japanese options you get. The only options they don't have is ASC and the rear blind.
Question for the DIYers that service their own vehicles.
Do you buy your oil/air/fuel filters etc from Lexus direct or do they have the equivalent parts through the Toyota dealers? Although this car has a full service history I plan on servicing as soon as I get it for piece of mind.
Also would anyone out there know the actually part numbers of these?
Many Thanks.

Not sure if we do but I've done some research since and found the landcruiser 200 series V8 deisel uses the same filter and we have a lot of 200 series in Australia, it's the equivalent of the F truck in the states.
Hey mate,
I've ordered mine too and waiting for it to arrive (approx. end of Jul). Are you Melbourne based if you don't mind me asking? I'm trying to look for a good mechanic to service the car as Lexus Australia won't touch them
Also would love to know what parts people are using for normal servicing of the car as OP mentioned
Cheers.

I do my own servicing as I've got a 2 post lift in my shed.
I’m pretty sure I’ve called up all the Lexus dealships in Melbourne and they said the same thing, but I’ll call Berwick again to make sure. The reason I want to take them to the dealership solely for the digital logging of car services. I’m not sure 3rd party mechanics can do them?
