Right, but a lot of things are available on the aftermarket that aren't available to the manufacturer and someone cutting and hacking at some steering wheels to make those in the aftermarket is way cheaper and easier than Toyota/Lexus going through their contracted supplier to create another new steering wheel shape for only 500 cars or whatever the limit is.

I actually don’t mind trading in my 23 for this edition just because it is most likely the last one.

I’ve noticed that whenever they announce a unique edition, the car gets either discontinued (RC F Final Edition) or refreshed into EV (ES Black Line Edition).

Can’t wait to see it in person this Aug or Sep. And I certainly hope they come in Michelin Pilot Sport tires.

Also, I don’t want to imagine this, but I think the ES 500 is going to be the replacement for the IS 500 once it’s gone.

^^ There is no doubt that the sedan market is collapsing and being replaced by SUVs. I still feel they will come out with a new IS but I agree with you that the likelihood of the 500 (with the V8) is on its way out is a thing.

I have a feeling some ugly replacement is coming our way if the ES is any indication. What a minimal interior and overly done exterior.

I spoke with a Lexus sales representative. He mentioned that he touched base with Lexus HQ and confirmed that the Ultimate Edition is MOST LIKELY (99% chance) the last of the IS 500.

That was enough to get me on the list. 😆

^^ i was told the same thing by my dealer and my heart says it makes sense....at least a 500 with a v8!

I decided to keep mine but i have said to my dealer that if he is given an ultimate edition to put me the 1st right of refusal so i can see it but it would have to be some spectacular to get me hooked

the dealers I talked to said lexus is still taking orders on regular IS500 though? does that mean the regular orders probably won't get fulfilled then?
