So the next IS may get a TTV8? That would be cool.
who knows what it will be in other than their new top sports car, but no chance Toyota is making this engine to just be in 1 car. Maybe a detuned in some Toyota cars and other Lexus cars.

Too bad they can't create an inline 6 to go with their new Supra.
Too bad they have yet to create a new TOYOTA Supra.
Rumor is they are working on it. However, the rumor is it will have a turbocharged 4 cylinder. They could borrow the turbocharged inline 6 from Mazda, but I've heard it's too heavy.
The idea of trading an enthusiast spec and borderline classic for the latest (but not greatest) version is mind-boggling to me.
I hear what you are saying - It all boils down to what draws us to a car - For some, it is the engine, for others it's tech and for others, it is simply how it looks. For me, I have zero interest in the latest tech, wireless apple car play and all the navigation assistance and doodads. The engine is, I would say, 20-30% a factor to me, but 70% is how the car looks both inside and out. I personally don't find the new front end offensive. I much prefer the new interior and while I would miss some aspect of the V8, it is not something I fully exploit. I never take my car on the highway and my limited circuit I do rarely allows me to open the engine fully. There is something about the V8 for sure, no doubt about it, and if the 2026 would have carried on as is (style wise) as only a 350, we wouldn't be having this conversation as I wouldn't trade my 500 for a 350 that looks exactly what I have now. That being said, they threw a curve ball by giving a few nip and tucks and a more modern interior so that resonates with me. I had a 215, 2017, 2019, 2021 and 2022 IS with the same interior so I wouldn't mind changing it up a bit. The V6 is still a great engine and more than enough power for what I do, heck, I drive a little Spark with 95 hp and that little thing is a hoot to drive.
That is why I am considering, and only that for the moment, that IF I don't like the UE, that MAYBE I would consider swapping my 500 for the refreshed 350. But as someone mentioned, I may not do it in 2026 in case they come out with another rabbit out of their hat in 2027

i have both about the inline 4 turbo/hybrid and the mazda inline 6 rumors as well. i don't think they'll rule out the inline 6 just because it's too heavy though lol.
Just beautiful, JHudd! You are only a couple of states west of me, perhaps mine will arrive before too long. Thank you for posting, do you like the interior too?

I love it. I had a 2014 white/red 350 prior to my LE and loved that combination. This is a great blend of the two cars for me.

I can understand this point. 👍🏽 However, the 2UR LOVES to be wrung out and if you’re basically putt-putt’n around in it, then maybe it should be traded in so someone else can get their hands on it. Can’t wait to see what you decide! 😎
