The other question is will it come with the same spare, different spare or a can of fix a flat? I ask because I didn't see any mention of the spare working with upgraded 380mm rotors / RC F calipers...

The problem for us Enkei guys has always been that the Brembos don't fit. I would bet these won't swap over with the Enkei wheels either.

It's a pretty lack luster ULTIMATE edition lol not much is ultimate about it.

Agreed, if it had the cooling upgrades to go along with this I would say it was a bit more "ultimate". I'm waiting for it to go all Dodge levels of naming length and get a "Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye Widebody Black Ghost Ultimate Final We Really Mean It Edition"

^^ I agree - I was really hoping for something a bit more unique but then again, given the limited units available, it is hard to justify putting a lot of effort into it. I may be surprised by the color in the flesh, but it doesn't really pop or screams ultimate edition. It's too bad though, I was really hoping for something really stunning to make me want to justify pulling the trigger but for that to happen, it has to check many boxes, and sadly, more negative than positive on this one for me.

If there's metallic in the paint I think it'll look nice in person. Kind of like Chevy's old Matrix Gray Metallic on the Corvette that was like a metallic off white, it was really nice in person. If it's just matte or flat light gray I won't get my hopes up.

^^ They did indicate it will have metallic in it....

Wind. This metallic light gray finish intends to convey a sense of agility and motion, capturing the dynamic character of the driving experience.

Ugh…don’t say that. I refuse to give up my Enkeis but I do want a bigger brake kit. As many mountain runs I’ve gone on, I’m still on the same pads and rotors. The rotors were turned once at 7k miles (my 3rd mountain run), because I knew nothing about engine braking. I’m holding out hope the UE’s calipers will fit; otherwise it’s the ISF front calipers, or just an upgrade of the pads.

Most likely a compressor with tire sealant. It's been this way since RC F and GS F were introduced.

So Lexus is going to discontinue the IS 500 by the end of year, the wording is not clear. If it's the last run then truly unfortunate.

But the writing is on the wall. Lexus does not care about their performance F nor the old "Pursuit of Perfection" ethos anymore look at all their trucks now, completely lost of character and the good ole NA V8 engines. 3IS is also very old platform now, not as old as RCF but it is old, the 2021 facelift with the structural changes is 6 years old now. LC 500 is from 2018, that's 8 year old. They did milk it heavily though with the V8, IS 500 is perhaps the highest sales model in the 2UR history of it's lifecycle.

I appreciate how they finally added some good brakes to the car, but they did not add them in the rear which is again, bean counters. At-least this has Ultrasuede, and the interior appointments sound good as well. Just like RCF Final Edition they are giving it a red and black interior and red calipers.

I am not a fan of where Lexus is going. Have you seen the upcoming 2026 ES? That is ugly and that interior is terribly plain. I can't stand the new infotainment, especially on the current RX and NX which are frustratingly terrible. Hunting through menus to do simple stuff I can do with one button press is going backwards. I think I am going to be buying used cars from now if this trend continues.

Click on the related images if you dare. The car is more plain than unsalted butter.

Unfortunately yes. I posted this in Car Chat the other day. Wtf is going on with the area below the headlight?! No cohesion.

It's good to know we have more options for caliper swaps.
I noticed this too. It's almost 1.5" lower than stock. Either they're not telling us something or someone "fixed" the wheel gap in post.

With 500 units, how many of these brake sets are they going to stock for spares? Is it something they can keep producing as long as we keep buying, or are there gonna be like 100 people that get to do the swap?

A lot of internet chatter says the new designs are geared more for the Chinese market since they are global cars now.

Apparently we have two distinct tastes, China and USA lol.

Honestly, I'd drive an ES or new Rav4 as a daily if I had a fun car too. Something that gets good mileage, completely isolates me from the road and the outside world, and a killer stereo would be perfect.

I would have liked a power trunk door, electronic door sensors on all four doors, puddle lights on the door handles, and wireless carplay/andriod more than the upgraded brakes and a numbered badge .
