Lexushouston - I am not sure Wind is that exclusive TBH. It's available on the LC 500, on the Electric BZ (I think that is what it's called) and I think it will be on the 2026 IS 350 and the wheels on it are already found on the 2025 IS 350 except the finish is a bit different) Furthermore, the 2026 will have that 2 color interior (red and black). I am not saying it won't be a nice car but other than getting the serialised plate and a few other goodies (2 colored steering wheel and seat belts) and such, it won't be as unique as Lexus could have made it. I wish they would have added a vented hood, a slightly differently tuned mid pipe and truly exclusive color. Until I saw the 2026, I felt the UE was gonna be very special but now that I see some of the UE trickling down to the 2026, I am like meh

Wind is also on the new RZ. But the two-toned interior is not the same as the 2026 IS. If you look at both, it's almost like where there is red on the UE, it's is black on the 2026 IS. And vice-versa.

What makes the UE exclusive in my eyes, is that it's the last opportunity to own this car for someone who doesn't have one but wants one.

I am a former owner of an IS F and GS F. I am very sorry I didn't keep the GS F so this is the closest I will get to it. I loved that engine.

^^ The RZ!! Thanks for correcting me, I couldn't remember the model name but that is the one. I agree, the red hue is different inside and not trying to poo poo the UE, my name is tagged on one and will see it in person before deciding but I just wish they would have made it truly exclusive for the last hurrah at this engine in the IS

Well, you'll probably be the only person in your province to have the UE so that in itself is exclusive.

I am there with you on regret of trading away a GS F. Hopefully this fills the void for us both!

IS500 that come in vector blue, flare yellow, molten pearl and wind are exclusive units. i don't know how else to tell you, respectfully.

He's saying it's exclusive because Lexus marketing said so. Exclusive doesn't equal tasteful and exclusive doesn't mean rare. You're conflating all of these things.

Grecian Water is not exclusive, yet it's more rare than any ultimate or special edition they ever made.

^^ I guess that maybe it's a language barrier so I won't go further, but I always thought that "exclusive color" meant that it's only available in that particular model. The fact that wind/neutrino grey is available in the LC, the RZ and even upcoming 2026 IS 350, in my mind, I was like "well that is not exclusive?!" But sorry for all the confusion I caused given my language barrier

I think it's you who's conflating those things. It has an exclusive color (only available on this specific model of IS500), an exclusive interior and is the only IS500 with the upgraded brakes. Whether you or others like those things is a separate question.

Great points. I can't argue those facts. To me though, 500 units of an already low-production car isn't very exclusive. According to the IS500 data spreadsheet, there are 72 units of Grecian Water, 172 Blue Vector, and 150 Molten Pearl examples (similar story for Flare Yellow). Those are technically more exclusive because they "exclude" a greater number of total IS500 owners with the same spec.

The UE is still cool, mainly because of the brakes. I just caution anyone who is interested in the UE not for it's different parts/colors, but because they've bought into the "exclusive" branding and think it's more rare than any other spec. It isn't.

Pretty sure you can just order UE brakes and install them on a regular IS500

I'm driving myself nuts trying to decide whether to keep my deposit for UE or go with my original love of Iridium w/ circuit red interior.

Don't forget though that the IS350 had pretty much all color combos the IS500 has so there is some exclusively to the IS500 via the Wind and 2 tone interior

wthrman2 Sep 29, 2025 10:14 AM

^^ If you can get Iridium with red, that is an amazingly beautiful combo!

Unless something has changed in the past several months, based on what I read - not personal experience, that the larger Brembo brakes included on the UE IS500 cannot simply be installed on a non UE IS500. Its my understanding that the lager brakes will not allow the electronic parking brakes to work properly, displaying error/warnings on your dash. Also these larger brake pads will require replacement of your wheel rims due to the Lexus provided rims not having enough room for lager brake system. Once they sort out the parking brake issue, its my opinion that upgrading a non UE to the large brakes would be cost prohibitive for most, having to replace the brake system, rotors and all rims.
If I were to keep my 2023 IS500 The simplest upgrade for better braking AND handling would be to replace the metallic brake pads with ceramic pads and switch tires to Michelin; to include repainting the brake calipers to a color you prefer - these simple upgrades would not affect your warranty as well.

I think you’re selectively applying the word exclusive to the paint colour. Grecian Water is a great colour and is exclusive in it’s on way, but it won’t come out of the factory with bigger brakes and other aesthetic interior features that a UE will get. Just because the UE has more production units than the GW, does not exclude it from being called “exclusive.”

And nobody mentioned we’re buying the UE because of what Lexus said. If you like other colour combinations, that’s good. But you don’t have to hate on the UE. To each their own.

I don't know why they wouldn't be interchangeable since I think only the front brakes are larger. The regular 19 inch rims should also fit. It would be really bizarre for Lexus to redesign the brake system on a limited run in the way you're suggesting.
