Tuned by Loi/vftuner
If I had to summarize, biggest benefit is being faster with WOT manual upshifts in sport S+.
its decent - helps most with manual shift speed. Auto mode in sport s+ still has to short shift around 7k to make the shift by 7300. The transmission has and always will be the real drawback in this car - no real “fix” for that. Overall still like my IS500 and the tune does help.

I’m not sure what I said would indicate that it did not have the TCU tune… Everything I said had to do with shifting.
that being said, the tune is a combo tune that does both ECU and TCU. You don’t do one or the other.
I don’t think there is a real difference in the horsepower department. There might be more on the top end, but it doesn’t really feel any different to me. Like I said, biggest difference is wide open throttle shifts in manual mode.

but yeah, the tune on the transmission in my opinion is the most useful part. Ultimately, though you’re still held back by the internal workings of the transmission and just cannot shift as quick as it really needs.
I have Loi's Tune along with RR Lightweight Pulley and PPE X-Midpipe. Can't say if the Tune makes a big difference in the power dept alone, but with the mods that I had when the Tune was installed, it made a noticeable difference in acceleration. Nice pull from 3500 to redline. The pull is constant until 5k then another surge is felt until redline. I had a rolling run with another IS500 with just a full catback and he noted that I was pulling away decisively.
As for the transmission, it does make it more enjoyable during regular driving in terms of crispier upshifts. It also holds shifts a bit longer when moderately accelerating. The magic is during S+ and manual shifting...feels almost like PDK.
Throttle response is also better as it's almost a 1:1 ratio.
