IS-F Front Calipers
 

Has anyone swapped IS-F 6-piston Front calipers onto the stock front rotors on our cars? I heard that it's a direct bolt on. If so, what do you need to do the swap and where did you get it?

Also what are your thoughts on it compared to converting the front brakes to RC-F/GS-F fronts?

I took a look at those threads and from what I read it seems that the RCF/GSF front brakes can bolt on our cars. For that swap you need: calipers, rotors, pads and brake lines. Also you need to either trim the dust shields or buy RC-F/GSF shields.
I haven't heard anyone talk about ISF calipers on our stock front rotors. From what I can tell you need calipers, pads and brake lines to do that front swap.
What I want to know is if there is any performance gain from ISF calipers and pads, or if it's just better to do the whole GSF/RC-F system.

All I can add is that it can be done. I recently watched a YouTube review comparing an IS F to an IS500 and the IS500 had swapped ISF calipers to the car. No details on what is needed though. I tried finding the link but I can’t find it now.

Quick answer is yes. Still have to shave some of the dust guard. Install is from older IS mk3 but same concept.

The IS500 in the video is mine. bolts right up, just need to bend or shave the dust shield a tiny bit. You can also use the existing brake lines.

I chose to do it for more brake pad options, and this upgrade is very cheap compared to the RCF caliper upgrade. I paid about $700 for both calipers from my local dealer.

The only other thing you need is a set of brake pads. The stock rotors are compatible.

yep, those are the two part number for the front left/ and right calipers.
then you need to add the pin kit: PN: 04947-0W010 must buy TWO. one for each caliper. this is the big bolt in the middle. You can also add the oem shims too if you want: PN: 04945-0W010 must buy TWO.
Add any front brake pads you like from 08-14 Lexus ISF. I personally use stoptech Street pads, you can find them on ebay. or any pads on rockauto. 100% bolt on. cool mod that should have been stock

This is helpful info, thanks @89is500 and @350phi ! How is the pedal feel and stopping power compared to the stock 4 pot Advics? I would imagine the power is better with more surface area, but would be worried that pedal feel would suffer trying to displace more fluid with the same master cylinder. Curious to hear your impressions.

Are you only running the ISF calipers and stock IS500 rear calipers?
