to change the ****, was there a zip tie holding it in place? did you have to remove the center console to clip it or can you just turn the oem **** right off? I have a replacement **** that I've been sitting installing cause I remember my '15 IS had a zip tie under the **** and tied the boot to the shifter. thanks in advance!

No, no zip tie. You pull the boot down (it will click) and unscrew the OEM one then screw yours on then pull the boot back up to click.
