Went to change out my little vent mounted air freshener and it appeared to chunk out my trim piece. Anyone know if you can replace just this trim? I see on line you can replace the complete console, don’t really want to do that just for the plastic trim. May just look at a carbon overlay. Ant thoughts would be appreciated.
I believe that is the vents and the trim piece, I was just wondering if I could find the trim piece by itself. If my OCD gets worse that may be the route I need to go.
You could be right but at least, if you use that part number, you could contact the Lexus dealership and ask teh part number what that number gives (the whole thing or bezel, and whether they can get the bezel only). - That is always teh approach I take when it comes to parts, I try and do a bit of preliminary search and then work with parts department and they are quite helpful that way
I mean, sure you could go aftermarket and get a carbon fibre finish but I prefer the OEM look, esecially where there would be no other CF elsewhere in the car, and then the other question is how much money would you save? You could get lucky through a salvage yard as this would be the same trim piece as the IS 300, 350 and 500 so chances are, you could find one or even like Ebay and such....
Regardless of which route you take, good luck and post the final outcome so we have closure and that could help others eventually in teh same boat as you
Ok so my OCD kicked in and I could not live with the damage to my vent trim. So I ordered one and was wondering in theory would any one know if you can remove just the silver trim piece around the clock. I would rather just change out that piece then remove the complete assembly. I do see that if you google the part number it shows that it is separate from the vents. Has anyone removed it? And give a few pointers of how to do it.
**UPDATE!! got it figured out as I was able to remove the silver trim piece, it was held on by clips and was easily removed.
