Curious if anyone here has tried to place an order on a new 500 in the time it was announced this production run is coming to an end, what you’re hearing from any dealerships, what your general experience has been so far etc.? Seen the recent Canadian threads but more interested in any US responses.

put down a deposit last week with one dealer, sales team quoted a reservation in 60-90 days which obviously would be tight with the end of the production run for this model year.

Not so much looking for unsolicited advice as I am just curious where forum members might be on their timeline with recent orders. But yes, noted.

 

I see 131 available new and used IS500s nationwide on AutoTrader. Far from hard to get.

 

My local Lexus dealer historically has had 8-10 IS500s at any given time. Right now they have 0 .

 

put down refundable deposits at multiple dealerships if you are serious about wanting one...

 

my friend went to a lexus dealer here in Vancouver, Canada they are still taking orders

Not intended as an advice thread so much as seeking to track with anyone that has tried to place an order with a US dealer recently, especially in light of recent info. That said I do appreciate the well-intended input from group.

 

You'll get a quicker answer and better controlled data if you called dealers across the country yourself and pretended to place an order.

As it has been stated many times, an "order" is not really a thing at Lexus per se. Some dealerships could promise you an allocation, but this isn't like at BMW where you can order a car from the factory. It is best to get on a list at a dealership (with or without a deposit) to be in line for an IS 500 when they get one.
