Default Air condition seats

Is it only the seat or the back, too? I don’t seem to have air from the back.

Front seats only in the IS.

Thanks but not my question. I’m talking about the front seats. I only have AC on the bottom, seat part. Is it also supposed to have AC on the back part where I lean back?

I think there is just a vent that blows some air under the seat. I'm not sure if the seat back has fans in it, I haven't turned them on in months and forgot lol /old

I got my car in December so activated the AC only once when it climbed to 81° but I'm pretty sure it was blowing air on my back as well.

I feel it on seat bottom and back too. Definitely worth buying the $40 plastic piece to deflect the under seat AC vent up to the bottom of the driver seat.

No affiliation whatsoever and sounds like the 3D printer plan files are out there free for the taking if you have access to such a printer.

It's like, lower back and rear portion of the seat bottom. And yeah it's not super strong on the lower back - mostly the seat bottom.

FWIW I think it's just circulating air in the car, not necessarily blowing cold air. It's more "ventilation" than "cooling".

@jororo Did you happen to see the 3D print files for free somewhere? I have a 3D printer but haven't been able to find the files. I can tell you the amount of filament used to print 2 of those is less than $5 so I'd rather not pay $40+ for something I can print myself.

I don't see how this deflector works because the fan under the seat is actually pulling air out from the bottom and back of the seat, not pushing air into them. Whatever coolness you feel depends on how cool your interior is.

The deflector directs the rear foot vents’ cold air towards the front ventilated seat fans, giving you an icy bottom.

Like I said, the seat fans underneath pull (suck) air from the top of the seats, they don't push air into the seats. You'd have to turn off the seat ventilation (fan) to feel it and split the a/c half top/half floor to feel it.

Oh no, they definitely push air out of the seat. I feel my t-shirt waving from the wind when I lean forward.

Uh, no, the fan sucks air into the seat from the bottom. Try putting your hand on the seat surface next time, air is being sucked in .

Here’s a link for the files I found a while back. I printed one and it definitely blows colder than without the elbow.
