Default Spark plug change interval

Looking at the maintenance guide and noticed that the spark plug interval is inconsistent. It shows required at 40k, 60k, 80k, and 120k. Anyone familiar with the 5.0 V8 and able to explain the irregularity of the schedule?

40k should be a fine interval, right? I don't think I've heard of a car with an interval less than 40k.

Maintenance guide says it's required under the terms of the Emission Control Warranty.

Again - the schedule seems really odd. Mine is certified - so I'll have to abide by the guide.

When I look at my maintenance schedule on the website, I don't see spark plugs at 40k or 80k. I see them at 60k and 120k.

That's really weird. The manual that is in the car and available to me on the Lexus owners site is different.

I pulled out my printed manual, and I don't see anything regarding spark plugs at 40k or 80k. Are you sure you have the right vehicle?

By the way, my key glove was in my owner's manual pouch, so thanks for helping me find it.

I just pulled the maintenance guide again from Lexus owners site - it has all the intervals I listed above. I wonder if it was in error. This isn't a Koenigsegg..........there is no way plugs needs to be changed this frequently.

So the early 2022 models had messed up manuals that went as far as saying that you should use 0W-20. It was basically an IS350 manual and they notified the owners and asked them to resort to the PDF available online. Perhaps this is the cause? If it tells you to use 0W-20 I wouldn’t follow the manual in your car

Thanks - I'll ask the dealer if they have an updated version tomorrow when I pickup my LX. If there was a revised version you'd think that they'd fix the online pdf as well. A few years back they had the same issue with the LX and Land Cruiser - they put out a version that had 1/2 quart more oil capacity than the previous year with no changes to the engine. It. caused folks to overfill.
