Default CarPlay vs Bluetooth Audio

Apologies if this has been discussed, I attempted to search and find older threads about it.

Speaking about my 22 IS350 F-Sport. I've noticed that if I plug my iPhone in, to use CarPlay, the audio sounds horrible. Nothing I do on the phone will make it sound any better. I've adjusted the settings for the car sound, but it's still bad. And this is with the ML system.

When I just allow the phone to connect via Bluetooth, it sounds fantastic. Adjusting the volume on the phone works like it should and also changing the EQ settings in the phone works as well.

Is there a hidden setting somewhere that I'm missing to allow the CarPlay sound to be better utilized.

Thanks!

On your iphone go to settings - music - EQ - select "flat" see what that does. Toggle between flat and hip hop or whatever genre you like and see if that affects anything while its playing thru the car speakers. Example: My EQ is set to "hip hop" which does change how it sounds as you toggle between different selections. But I change it to rock or whatever depending on what i'm listening to. Its a long shot but maybe "flat" will fix this.

When the phone is connected (via wire) for CarPlay, nothing that I do on the phone makes any changes at all to the music/audio coming out of the car. I've stopped using CarPlay. The difference in quality of sound between these two options is night and day. I'm actually really impressed how good it sounds now. Thanks.

I haven't noticed any difference in sound quality with Android Auto. Just curious if you have tried different cables to connect your phone?
