Quote: Multiple posts / threads with RR racing tune putting cars into limp mode. There is no dyno proving their horsepower increase in numbers from the 3IS platform (someone actually said it stayed the same in a post a year or so back). There's a YouTuber who also said that he didn't feel the car felt any faster. Another YouTuber who documented his whole process of having a supercharger installed from their facility which ended up needing a new transmission.. shortly after that he sold his supercharged car. There is also no long term data on any of their supercharged vehicles. And now we have a broken oil catch can.

If someone can state a positive experience that they have, I'm all ears, but I've been following this company for years and I just see a bunch of negative press from their customers. Not sure why this company is advertised on the forum.
Did anyone ever tell you not to believe everything you read on the Internet? No one in the history of Lexus Aftermarket has done the type of Dyno R&D than RR Racing. All of our tunes and dyno #'s are transparent and displayed on our website. The 2GR does not get huge hp benefits from tuning and everyone knows that and we don't claim to.

Marty Motoring has made it crystal clear to everyone and anyone with ears that his transmission was weak and slipping long before he installed a supercharger. Some just choose not to hear that part. I've had to address that misconception a bunch of times. And the fact is, the transmissions ARE weak. You're adding a substantial amount of HP and that's a weak link. I make every customer aware of that. That said, very, very few transmissions have gone bad after S/c'ing in hundreds of kits sold. This is because we keep the power turned down and don't push the limits because we have this knowledge.

If you ever have an interest in being a RR customer, you can be sure that Rafi or I will be standing by to deal with any satisfaction concerns you may have.

Folks, let's keep conversations about other products in their respective threads or PM, @swaangin not sure why the supercharger kit/tunes were brought up.

Let's put all this in the proper perspective. We released the Air/Oil Separator product for the IS350 as a response to many customers asking. This is a very inexpensive and simple product. If installed and used properly, the problems described in this thread rarely happen (we sold thousands of separators for all Lexus models that use the same canister). It is not fool proof, however, and if not handled carefully, the fittings and some internal components may brake. Since this unit was only bought in August, I agreed to replace the canister under warranty.

Do you own or bought any product from RR Racing or just purely basing off other experiences?

I have bought quite a few things from RR Racing and have mostly positive experience and yes have had some negative experiences but Rafi had helped me in trying to resolve the issue. They are the sole company that makes reliable aftermarket products for Lexus platform. I have had their tune now for almost 100k miles - i drove down to their facility from Boston and Rafi installed the tune himself back in 2017 and never once a hiccup over the last 5 years. Like any consumer, you want to get the value of product you paid for and if the company is willing to work with you to help resolve the issue ( like RR Racing is above) in my eyes I would buy from them again.

**** breaks and sometimes doesn't go your way but that what you sign up for when start modifying your car. If you don't want to deal with the hassle then stay stock.

Quote: First, let me apologize for your disappointing experience. I don't know why you're having multiple issues with this as we sell hundreds and have a small issue once in a blue moon. I will be glad to personally address any concerns you have same as we did with the broken plastic adapter.

-These IS350's aren't known to accumulate oil the way the V8 cars do. That said, some people have the opposite experience and do get a lot of oil.
-The little crack marks are not cracks. They are cosmetic only. This happens only to some of them and we don't know why but it's never caused a problem. That glass is extremely heavy-duty. Keep in mind, we do not make or manufacture these cans we buy them from a very large vendor and they are sold through that vendor so communicating with the manufacturer is next to impossible.

Regarding the bronze filter, Below is a picture with an arrow pointing to some damage. There is supposed to be a threaded end on there that the top hat to the filter screws onto. When an AOS leaves here the filter is obviously screwed down with the top hat. There's no reason it should break off after the fact unless it was over-tightened at a later time. I suppose it could be pulled off also because the threads aren't terribly strong. But it shouldn't fall apart for no reason. I know this will sound accusatory and I apologize if so, but they are assembled before they leave.

Thank you for sending me another can! I understand your perspective and I trust it.

What confuses me is that it failed in two separate points but yet I could not really see anything that I could have done incorrectly to cause it..

As you recall, in my case, the can was touching one of hydraulic lines when it was installed per manual, so I had to rotate it 180 deg and bend the bracket a little to create enough clearance between the catch can body and the line.
But that was it. After that it wasnt really rubbing anywhere. All the bending of the bracket was done without the can in place. But even if it was, the can felt like it could withstand a blast, in terms of how solid the connection between two main parts felt.

Let me know if you need better pictures of the can in detail from me (the ones I sent you were taken in a haste).
Also, let me know if you want me to return the original can.

Finally found enough time to install a replacement can. I am going to continue reporting on how it is going.
