Default Oil Filter Cartridge Converter

Anyone has experience with using the Baxter Oil filter cartridge to spin-on converter? Seems like something to make oil changing easier or at least less messy.

That is so sweet ordering at least one for cars I service. Cartridge filter is flat out moronic.

$229.95, ugh, that buys a lot of canister filters, but I’ll probably get it anyway.

I know, the price is harsh. I told a family member I won't be changing the oil on their RAV anymore until they buy this. We'll see how that goes.

Yeah, this thing is mighty pricy, but getting that fumoto valve was so, so useful and made my life easier that this seems like a good investment too. Wish there was a cheaper alternative...

I wonder if this adapter would allow for an external engine oil cooler thermostat to be installed. The main reason why you couldn't get an oil cooler thermostat on an IS350 was because of the cartridge design.

You could probably put a pancake adapter on there, but not sure if it would then be too long with the filter to fit above the undershield cover.
But they do have a ‘remote’ oil filter adapter, if you can find another place to mount the filter, so in that case you’d have lots of opportunity to insert a temperature sensor.

Bit the bullet and placed an order earlier this evening.

To each his own, and it's nice. I am not cheap, but at $330, it's not that much value vs time to me. Thats alot of markup for the construction cost to produce. It's like a $50 - $70 part. Not a $330 part. Just IMO.

So I did install this about a month ago, so we’ll see how the next oil change goes next year. Was a bit of a struggle getting it on, as the center is spring loaded and you need to push pretty good to compress it before the threads will engage. And doing it while laying on your back on a creeper was kind of funny, as I had no leverage, I just rolled away as I pushed.
Hope I don’t have to take it to a dealer for any service, as I’m sure it will baffle them.
Regarding clearance, I think there’s room to add a pancake/sandwich adapter to add oil temp/pressure sensors.

I'd rather put the money towards a high torque impact driver!

I honestly think buying this for just the spin on filter part is a little too expensive. I see the possibility of a sandwich plate/oil cooler as what might make the cost worth it.
