Is300h pcv
My cars burning oil, no oil leaks I've been asked to replace pcv, has anyone done this or could someone show me where its located, this is a is300H. 130k mileage, it runs smooth but concerned it might leave me with a internal leak, oil in the throttle body or ear.
Has anyone got anything on this?
This is what lexus sent me and said this 2arfe doesn't have pcv.
Lol
I now know 12204 is a pcv, but on thus diagram it doesn't have the last 4 numbers, 12204 is pcv for different toyota lexus, I don't feel like even calling them. Would you be able to tell me which is the correct full part number.

The part number should be 10 digits in total.
Unfortunately here in North America we don't get the 300h, so it's not found on any local parts catalogs.
I think this is the part number (12204-36040): https://www.megazip.net/zapchasti-dl...925948-9925948

Hopefully this changed should stop oil burning.

So is a ventilation valve and a pcv the same thing?
PCV = Positive Crankcase Ventilation
So I'd say yes, it's the same thing.
You need to call another dealer...clearly this parts person is new or has no idea what they are doing.
If the part number starts with 12204, then it's a PCV valve...every Toyota/Lexus that has a PCV valve will start with the number 12204...the difference is the last 5 digits.
So I'd say yes, it's the same thing.

I assume this is some thing any decent garage can change over?
The PCV valve is just screwed into the valve cover.
After removing the engine cover, remove the hose on the PCV. The clamp you can release by hand, or use a pair of pliers.
The PCV screws into the valve cover, so it's likely a 17mm (or smaller) which you can use a wrench to unscrew.
Then screw the new one in so it's snug, put the hose back on with the clamp, and reinstall the engine cover.

After changing that pcv, I still get oil consumption, i keep it topped up but on few occasions the oil light came on and i topped it before driving further.
if I done drive the car for 2 days, the cold start is rough, after few seconds its fine, i think the call it a death start. I assume the cam chain is stretched but also vvt cam gear will need changing. Some times when car is idealing it make one quick noise or a shake am thinking that's the pin everyone is talking about. Also the engine shop which will do the job haven't confirmed if the kit comes with the cam pulley I've also seen some kit comes with one but others with 2, is the pins in both or just the one
