Default New here...just picked up an IS350

Hi all! I'm a newbie here—wanted to say hi. Just picked up an IS350 unfortunately they didn't have any more new models left in Ultra White (since new models coming 2021), so I defaulted to Caviar Black. Still sometimes wished it was white but the black is starting to grow on me! Also, I never thought I'd like a red interior but I ABSOLUTELY ADORE the Rioja Red!!!

Looks gorgeous! You'll enjoy it for years and years! Out of curiosity, how'd you decide between a 2020 and waiting a bit longer for the 2021?

Looks amazing, it's so funny you say you wanted Ultra White because I wanted Ultra White with the red interior. I was about to pull the trigger on a Black/Red IS but I ended up going with the beige interior. Literally today I was wishing I had a black IS haha. Enjoy the car!

Good question! The incentives were literally quite stupid haha. Dealer discounted MSRP by $3,000 + cash incentive $7,500 + college grad discount $1,000. All-in-all I think I saved around $8-10k just from incentives due to them trying to get rid of the older models ASAP. Because the IS300 had $5,000 incentive, while the 350 had an incentive of $7,500, the price of the IS300 and IS350 was the same at the end of the day. Crazy.

Thank you!! Yeah I just love the lines of the car, as well as the black fangs on the front. The black exterior seemingly hides all those details, whereas its very "showy" on white. The black DOES have a very aggressive look to it though. I was thinking about getting it wrapped in white (paint protection...kill two birds with one stone I guess?), but still indecisive because for the same amount of money (quoted at $2200) I could buy a CF front splitter, skirts, and rear splitter. I already ordered a Remark axle-back. So...who knows what I'll do haha.

Amazing looking car! I had a MB CLA 250 in black until I totaled it last year. It looked fantastic, when it was clean. I never regretted the color.
I went back to Japanese for longevity and entered Lexus land. Enjoy every minute, as I'm sure you already are. Crazy great discounts!

Congrats on the new ride! Black is the best color when clean.

I however will never do it again, your caviar color is a little more forgiving than my Obsidian was, but just know that black can be a pain.

Suggest immediately coating with polymer wax or ceramic coat a lot of people like. Avoid drive through car washes forsure, and invest in good wash equipment and towels (but try to towel dry as little as possible).

If i did it again I would put film on the front bumper (only) to help with rock chips, ceramic coating, and buy a leaf blower to dry the car with.

The perfect time to make an investment on preserving that black paint!

Enjoy

Yep! Hence why I'm actually looking at wrapping it haha. Preservation! I settled for a black as a good base color since it looks MEAN, but I definitely would prefer a color where I can actually show off the beautiful fangs and grill and all the sleek lines of the car.
