Yes, I have same yr 2014 Nav w/joystick but mine is IS350 don't think it matters. Carlinkit box didn't work at all I suggest you try Road top to see if it does but I'm not that optimistic, at least tell them if they provide free return it costs about $60 to send it back.
I see ill have to ask them questions then, so you just gave up about even trying to get that done your is350 ?
Has anyone had good results with the toad top with my same specs?
I'm not going to attempt anymore I kept removing the trims so many times some clips are bound to break, just a caution when you install the connectors don't jam into OEM connectors the pins are more fragile than they look.
For those with joystick or touchpad: i saw this setting inside setup "mini touch pad", maybe u guys can try turning it on. For rotary **** users like me, obviously set it to off. Maybe it works?
Hello all,
I was not able to find anyone’s experience with the airplay function on the road top version. Does it work well for airplaying a YouTube video or Netflix video? I am interested in purchasing the roadtop box but only if both CarPlay and Airplay work well.
Also, is there a reason why all of you chose these adaptable CarPlay boxes instead of replacing the screen to an android touch screen that supports CarPlay, android auto, etc. ? Many of you seem to have trouble with the joystick input along with bugs within the system, and I believe the touchscreen alternative addresses many of these issues. Could the main reason be for the cheaper price? (In my research, a roadtop box costs around $300 while an android touchscreen that is compatible with the IS is double the price on Ali express)
I have the smaller non nav screen, so to switch would have involved a new cluster hood, wiring harness, and nav/ML radio unit which by itself was around $1000. I looked through all of the reviews and it seemed like the conversion boxes worked well for people with the non nav setup. In my experience my box has been flawless.

I’m not impressed with Android OS in general and lots of these screen Android are very buggy and you need external mic and gps unit if you want to use map from Android OS. And there are no integrated SIM card in these unit you basically have to use hotspot from your phone to get data in Android. I just wanted CarPlay in my car so it seems not worth the effort. Touchscreen is not convenient it’s too far away to use comfortably.

For AirPlay, YouTube only airplay’s properly when you enabled mirroring from apples control center then head to YouTube site via safari. Select the vid then hit full screen. This method doesn’t show the video on your phone and on the main screen. It only shows on the main screen while your phone says you are airplaying. Much better for the phone battery.
havent tried any other apps or services for airplay.

Regarding airplay, it works flawlessly for me. As easy as airplaying to apple TV, in fact, same process. Here are two links to videos I took, airplaying while streaming on CNN and Youtube apps.
I only wanted carplay and airplay mirroring, while retaining original stuffs. The conversion box was an affordable choice, without me changing other dashboard items, so far no regrets...
I know there is no way I could do this install myself. If I purchase it who would l look for to install it? Would a place like Best Buy or Car Toys do something like this? Or who would I search for, a stereo shop?????
