Also no you can't really get great MPG out of an n/a engine. The turbo 4 out of the new BMW is already banging 43+ mpg highway. that's in sport package trim with summer rubber too. that's approaching Prius territory...
How can someone enjoy a 43+mpg car if it's always in repair shop?

The I6 is a great engine but a big displacement V8 kicks its ***. The I6 is smooth but so is a V8 and that low rumble is intoxicating. It feels more powerful everywhere. If the ISF had been built for the 3IS, I may have just gotten that and kept the car for a long time but the current V6, while reliable and fun in the higher rev range, was lacking in overall performance. I like the turbo i6 and they've reduced turbo lag to a great degree but an old school V8 had better throttle response and a linear pull to redline. Of course none of these powertrains have the brutal acceleration of an electric motor and Lexus hopefully has one available if they ever decide to update their RWD lineup.
