Default Clunking noise when i brake

I recently changed my brakes pads/rotors and now i hear this clunking noise when i brake. Just before my car comes to a stop after braking, i hear the clunking noise. Took it to a mechanic and they said it was the Shims and the upper spring on the caliper.....i changed that and the noise is still there.

The hear the noise just before the car comes to a stop after braking, Other than that i dont hear anything. I was told i might need to replace my endlinks since im at 90k miles, but i dont think thats the noise....

any help would be appreciated.

These noises are next to impossible to diagnose accurately on the internet. You're going to have to tear everything down and visually inspect it. It could be a combination of the parts you used and your methods used when installing them.

Lets start by what you are using. in detail. *specifically*

Stoptech Slotted rotors
Stoptech Street pads

I had the same exact setup before i replaced the pads/rotors and had no noise or issues.
Everything else on my car is OEM.

Yeah those kinds of things are hard to defend cause the moment you go aftermarket, you just pissed in the soup. The aftermarket more or less plays guessing games w/ tolerance/fitment/thermal expansion, etc. You have no idea of the measurements of what you installed. That's the beauty of going big name stock. you know the fit is right and you know the problem lies somewhere else.

Is it your brakes? Maybe maybe not. But now that you've thrown this wrench into the mix, it's exponentially hard to say. You're going to have to pull stuff apart and check it out. This kind of stuff can drive someone crazy especially when off brand parts are used. Cause if the problem persists, you resort to buying OEM parts again.

Also I have no idea what car you have

The F sport already has premium stock hardware. very aggressive and sporty right out of the box. just curious why you installed racertech brakes?

the stock brakes are supplied by a bmw supplier and are of premium german quality.

The dust is the premium part of the experience. That means you have supreme braking.

You need to help yourself at this point, there's not much else to say here based on what you've provided other than speculation.

Like I said tear down the brakes and re inspect everything.

Have you tried this: lift a wheel off the ground; then using both hands, shake the wheel and listen for any loose components.

You can also try slowing the car down using your paddle shifters. See if the clunk happens. If so, it's probably suspension.

no noise.

I only hear the noise right before the car comes to a stop. Other than that, i dont hear anything else when im driving. No rattling, clunking, shaking, or vibrations.

I ordered new End links since they were the cheapest part to order in the suspension area......lets see if that fixes the issue

Don't listen to E46CT he just thinks German quality is the best thing in the universe. Tolerances from aftermarket suppliers are strict for most things due to safety hazards. If the endlinks don't solve the problem, if you can get some cheap pads and maybe even rotors and install them to see if it's the current setup that would be good too. Is the noise coming from a particular side?

Shoulda just dropped in some Akebono's. They stop just as good as stock pads, with virtually 0 brake dust.
