3IS Center Console Armrest Cushion/Bumper?

3IS Center Console Armrest Cushion/Bumper?
Ever since I bought my 2016 IS, my center console armrest has been slightly loose when it is latched shut, so it constantly rattles. I bought it used at Carmax, so I took it back to them to fix it. I think they just jammed some generic bumpers/cushions in the holes, so then it would barely shut because they were too big.
I then ordered OEM replacement 'cushions' or 'bumpers' for it directly from Lexus, and they are way too small to fit in the holes that are provided.
The part number through Lexus/Toyota states 58959-60060, which I ordered. Has anyone else had a similar issue? I've rigged up some felt pads to help, but I can't get it 'perfect', and it's driving me nuts.

I had a similar issue yes. I used felt tape and wrapped around the latch itself, and the portion which it hooks onto.
Can't find my picture but the felt tape on both sides of contact name it a perfect snug fit.

I took the two little rubber bumpers out from the REAR center armrest from my 2015 RX350 (pulled them out) and then pushed them into the holes of the IS. They fit snug, but its PERFECT! Looks totally OEM, and makes this solid as a rock :-)
Maybe look up this tiny part number at your local lexus dealer.

I just bought a 2016 IS and had the same observation. I fixed it perfectly.

I’m seriously ready to rip the thing off and throw it out the window 🤣

Omg I knew I wasn’t crazy! I took my car to the dealer and insisted this was happening they even kept it for 2 days and couldn’t duplicate it. Probably doesn’t help that the shop foreman was in his 60s and his hearing is probably not that sharp. I’ll try the felt!

My 14 IS had the same issue, my friends 15 IS has the same issue, but I think after the refresh Lexus has fixed this issue because a year later in my 18, its perfectly fine.

Does this look like your rear armrest? If so, I'd assume part #13 would be the bumper/cushion, but of course there's no separate part number that I can find on their site or lexuspartsnow.com

That might be true, but I think it also depends on your use of the armrest. My 2016 with almost 30,000 miles on it has no armrest issues. Of course, I don't really keep stuff in the center console, so I don't use it much.
