Lip bumper damage

I was just pulling into a normal-ish driveway.
It had an unexpected high bump.
Need whole new bumper?

You could probably epoxy or fiberglass it, sand it down, bondo it to level the surface and repaint it. Some body shops can fix that. If you're not wanting to go through all that trouble or spend that kind of money on it, you could always just slap some epoxy on it and use some touch up to hide it.

It’s basically a new car, so I want it nice.
New bumper would be the perfect fix?

if you want it like new, then yeah you need a new bumper. a body guy may be able to humpty dumpty it but as you said.. you want it nice.

by the looks of it, you went at that aggressive driveway pretty aggressively. easy there cowboy. this ain't a jeep gladiator!

Yep. Getting a brand new bumper as @E46CT said will yield a perfect fix.

These cars arent super super low, especially stock, but if you hit an especially steep driveway or dip, youll be giving the road a little too much love.

New bumper from dealer collision service:

Guesses = $600, 700, 800 ? More, I’m guessing.

Another question. Do they paint match the new bumper?
or will it be pre-painted from factory?

Depending on who or where the work is done is dependent on what happens there. We have a service parts department in the factory that does ship factory painted bumpers, they also ship primed ones as well.

RKSTRAT 05-18-19 07:57 AM

The estimate is $1500

RKSTRAT 06-04-19 05:17 PM

Update: $1200. Perfect job. They painted a blank bumper.
Caviar perfect match!

Obviously, I don’t want this to happen again.
It seemed pretty innocent. I was making a left turn into
a mildly sloped unfamiliar driveway. I was going straight
in and since it was a left turn into oncoming traffic,
I was paying more attention to traffic.

How would a protective lip look on a 2017 Fsport?
Would it have helped?
Would it cover the chrome base of the grill?

Damn this is actually one of my biggest fears. Coming from a Camry that car could go through any parking bump. This 2019 Lexus is 300 F sport I got is just low to the ground and there are sensors everywhere on it so I can't imagine how much it would cost to replace it. Luckily i reverse park over 90% of the time

RKSTRAT 06-05-19 04:43 AM

Yeah I was glad I don’t have parking sensors :-).
I am really careful with walls and parking blocks.
No wheel scrapes yet.
