perhaps the fans aren't overheating, but it's a known problem that some have experienced the seats getting hot while in ventilate mode and it's not because the cabin is hot.

Intuitively you'd assume this feature was created for use on hot days to help you cool down before the a/c starts working, similar to the heated seat function, which is for use on cold days to warm you up before the heater starts working.
But it's actually meant to be used on long drives when the cabin is already cool, but your back/bottom is warm from being in contact with the seat for a long period.
Used in the proper context it works fantastic.

I got lucky when I bought my car, my salesman wasn't really a salesman, he was a delivery specialist, so he knew all the in's and out's of things.
I need to call him and find out if I can turn off that damn BRAKE OR YOU'RE GONNA DIE alarm and blinking red light. lol I get that a lot.

I told him to turn everything off at delivery, I hate all that stuff, so I guess the red light has to stay hahaha. At 7 months of ownership and 3,800 miles I'm just starting to turn a few things on just to see what they do.

Nah, I don't mind it. I never use LDA or the cruise control though, only when I'm on a super long road trip which is maybe 3 times a year.

If your back is hot and you have "warm" or even semi "cool air coming at your back (which you're most likely wearing something thinner on your upper body), it's still going to feel hot. Unless you have cold A/C quality air blasting straight under your seat or the cabin is pretty cold already, then the air coming from the seat is going to be warm or even hot. These seats are VENTILATED, not cooled. It's physics level science, not rocket science.

Mine have never blown hot air when the cabin is cool. If yours do then there must be some sort of problem. The fans themselves have no way to create hot air, they merely circulate what is already there.

indeed it is a problem, more for the older models i think (i have a 2015 IS350). when I brought it in, my dealership was the one that said the fans may be overheating. it only happens occasionally and i seldom use the ventilated seat function anyway so its not a big issue for me.

you're right, its not rocket science, so what do you not get? when it does happen, the seats get as hot as if your seat warmers were on. the problem i'm describing has nothing to do with the temperature of air being ventilated since it can happen when the cabin has already been cooled.

That's exactly what I do.
