Noise in cabin
I have a 2019 IS 300 AWD. I bought it brand new. I now have 400 miles on it, all but approx. 130 have been city to moderate (55 mph) highway miles. The 130 were interstate miles.
Today i I noticed a considerable “thump” when driving over road straps and other bump. It sounds like the passenger side and initially I thought it was a loose door or something with the molding. Nothing mechanical.
I now feel like it might be rattling or flapping from the wheel well liners? They feel loose and soft, which surprises me. The noise is quite distinct. And honestly, annoying. Anyone have any thoughts?

If everything looks secured to you upon inspection, I would just take it to the dealer since it's such a new car but first call your salesperson and tell them about the issue, they can often twist the arm of the service department to go the extra mile to make sure you're happy.

400 miles ?? I literally nearly drove that today and didn't even leave southern California.
Point being...brand new car they should fix you right up ASAP. A little strange the wheel wells felt soft but even if you see the issue I'd pull into service drive way and wait there with the car until it's addressed and fixed.

Random thought, but have you checked the little shelf inside the glove box? Mine came loose and started making noise not too long ago. The noise sounded like it was vaguely towards the front of the car on the passenger side.

Definitely check the glove box or anythign rolling around on the hard plastic shelf. Very very very little chance something that obvious is wrong w/ a brand new car. cars are quadruple checked at the factory and at the dealer.

Ah good point. It's much more than just 'very odd" but nearly impossible right off the lot

I've got a rattle as well. It seems to only be present in parking lots, at low speed and over some of the not smoothest roads. I read somewhere on this forum (the search function here isn't the greatest) that it might be the rubber stoppers on the hood. But I tried turning that and it's still there.

[QUOTE=unioncorps;10500734]Haha - my 2018 is barely at 1000 miles, I think 978 or something currently... I bought it new last June. I have my '04 Corolla which is my daily beater.[I/QUOTE]
Logical car for daily. I have a 14 Sentra for that but it's hard to leave the IS home sometimes! My IS350 is not mileage shy at 89k 5 years old now. Firm believer it'll go minimum 250k without major issue which I won't want or be able to do myself.
Honestly the Sentra probably should of been a Corolla I'm a big Corolla advocate.

If coming from the front, check the intake and fluid tanks. If you take it in for any type of service places like to do a "courtesy" check on things and may not replace things where they should be.
